I can remember watching Meet the Press in the 90s and noticing that the sponsors were all pharmaceutical companies and defense contractors. At the time I wondered why the defense contractors paid to advertise on TV. Were they hoping someone watching would purchase an F/A-18? It did not occur to me at the time that what they were paying for was for control of how they would be covered by the press.

Propaganda has always been there but she is referring to the manifestations of the Amendment of the Smith Mundt Act after 2012, which "let the beast out of the cage" and after which the gaslighting was VERY noticeable. Prior to that there was far less room for media "curation" from the State Department.

I am a 66 yr old red headed male, lifetime registered Libertarian. I am happy that Rising is allowing us to hear another intelligent person from the party. Sadly, Libertarians gave us a flawed candidate, . I have not heard a word from. Even sadder, the party does next to nothing to explain y big government is detrimental to everyday living and y our Constitution is so powerful and so necessary. Shame that Libertarians, a group that is so smart, is una le to getbtheir message out their. I am not knocking Robby, who I think does a terrific job. Ron Paul, even in his late years remains somewhat relevant. I hope Argentina shows the blueprint that the Libertarian way works best for all. It seems as if there is little else to show the way.

Hard to hear from a candidate when they have 0.0001% the campaign finances to spend. You can absolutely go out and find all kinds of messages from the libertarian party on social media and such, but you seem to be referring to watching an NFL game and seeing a Libertarian campaign ad. They wouldn't have the money for a single airing of a commercial like that, let alone enough to fund an entire campaigns worth.

And regardless of how any Libertarian candidate might fair against other libertarians, or my vision of the “perfect“ candidate, when I compare them to any legacy party candidate (Democratic, Republican) they’re miles better. I may agree with 5% or 10% of what a Republican or a Democrat candidate stands for. But I generally agree with 70% to 80% of what any random libertarian stands for. For me, it’s never even close.

Have YOU the reader actually gone to both presidential candidates online official government platforms and read ALL the policies by both parties?? What about the platforms of people running for various positions in congress? Which policies do you specifically like? How will they benefit you? How will they benefit the nation now and over time? How will they hurt you? How will they hurt fellow citizens now and over time? Will they affect taxes? Whose taxes? Etc etc etc Have you read the entire constitution? Have you researched each amendment, what they mean, and how they are applied in government? Could you pass a basic civics test? You can watch live hearings in congress in full so you don’t have to see clips from bias hosts from either side. You can watch all interviews/debates in full on their original platforms instead of skewed clips on different or a-posing platforms. You can get access to many documents that are public on various laws, lawsuits, about or around the constitution as well as actions taken by congress and by whom. There are ways to cross check a lot of things you hear on social media & “news” outlets. Don’t take anyone’s word. Don’t be narrow minded and ignorant. Do your own research.
