MAINTAINING A LARGE WEIGHT LOSS - WHAT IS MY IDEAL WEIGHT? TODAY IS WEIGH IN DAY!!

today I discuss a bit about my weight loss journey and how I maintain my weight loss.
basically, it's not rocket science, I do very little different from my weight loss plan to my weight loss maintenance plan . . . just very minor tweaks to stop the weight loss.
FINALLY, after all these years of hell, I now have the solution to living a peaceful life!!
Be well,
Lulu

I was really enjoying your van videos with the message of “just get out there and do it “ but I now believe that I was somehow led to your channel to hear what your sharing now, the healthy food plan, that it’s doable, watching you prepare your food, simple, easy, inexpensive, no gimmicks. You are very inspirational and I’m glad I found you

I’m so blessed by your calm no nonsense approach to life. I have struggled with my weight as well as eating very unhealthy foods for the past 30 years. Now at 65 I’m in very poor physical health. Today listening to you has given me encouragement and the drive to jump off the log, not just decide. I’ve decided so many times and never really left the mental space that was keeping me hostage. Thank you, and I will continue to gather encouragement from your videos. Have a blessed day!

Lulu, you are a true inspiration in your van adventures, your food and in your spirit. I am obese and aspire to transition to full time van life within a year or so. Loving your role model of health and joy on the road, and commitment to self. I have a lifetime sugar/food addiction but have done similar food to yours years back and it works. Digging deep for the true willingness to do the work again, and find my way back to health. Food is for sustenance but done wrong it can serve other purposes, at a cost of course. Success is possible for sure, not always easy to make good food choices multiple times a day (vs. other addictions one can stop completely). Wishing all out there wellness!

I know exactly what your saying. I have been on every diet known to man and just kept gaining weight. I think I have finally found my balance and have lost 48pds I have a long way to go but I just keep on pushing. Some of my problem was bad advice from a Dr. of over 19 yrs. , but my biggest problem of course was ME! I love food, all the wrong kinds of food. I think the first steps is coming to grips with your problem and fixing it. I'm by no means starving I eat really well but the right kinds of food. I really enjoy your channel, brings a lot of days gone by in the Italian neighborhoods of NJ. LOL

hi Jo!! once I got to place where I saw clearly the insanity of me putting "wrong kinds of foods" in my body, food that did not serve me well and worked against all my aspirations and goals, only then was I able to begin making more sane choices that aligned with who I wanted to be. then I stopped struggling. then I didn't need to "keep on pushing". it began, over time, to just feel natural and peaceful and the ONLY choice. keep at it, Jo!! Hello Lulu! Great video! I have been on a weight loss journey as well the past 2 1/2 years. The program I have been on uses prepackaged fuelings in addition to whole food to help jump start your weight loss. As you are losing weight you work on small simple habit changes and mindset. I initially lost about 37lb but struggle with addiction to sugar and have been yo-yo’ing and so frustrated. I realized I’ve been using the prepackaged fuelings as a crutch, so now I am just eating Whole Foods despite having about 20lb to lose. Your videos have been extremely helpful and I totally agree with what you said about weight loss… it’s not about looking good, it’s about feeling good and enjoying a higher quality of life! I feel good and am active now, but know I will feel even better 20lb down! Have a blessed weekend!

hi Angela!! the only way for me to get out of the sugar for good was it give it up 100%. kinda like the way a drug addicts needs to put down the drugs, not just have it once in a while. I don't know what's in those "prepackaged fuelings" but if it's sugar, it's not serving you well, it's not fuel, it's poison!! I'm glad you're eating whole foods now and stay on track and you'll be on your way!! Lulu

Congratulations on your diligence to keep your weight from creeping back up. I know it’s a hard thing to do for a lot of us. We all have our struggles. I struggle too but not with numbers. I put on a pair of jeans today that I wore last spring and I was happy that they fit exactly as they did last time I wore them. This past winter I started walking a lot more and that helps me to maintain. I stopped eating snacks like they were going out of style . That too helped . I eat the bulk of my food in moderation early in day between 11:30 ish and 2pm. I push supper to 6:30 ish instead of 5ish. If I’m hungry that I can’t sleep I have a small yogurt. If I go to bed early I fall a sleep on KZbin Lol! Then I don’t snack . Being mindful takes practice but it works for me. Maybe my regime can help someone that’s struggling. I find if you start to practice something sometimes it can become a habit. If at first you don’t succeed you try again.

I’m a happy stepper. Hahahaha 🏃🏼‍♀️🚶‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️🚶‍♀️😁 Have nice day Lulu

You are such an inspiration. I am doing it - managing my eating and weight. Started to lose weight seriously 4 years ago and have maintained a 70 lb loss for over 2 years. It takes making my eating an intentional priority every day, every meal, every bite. I just eliminated sugar and artificial sweeteners a few weeks ago and guess what? No more craving sweet. I love good, fresh (mostly local) whole food that is so delicious. Watching you inspires me I am not alone. Thx so much for sharing your life and eating.it is really supportive, my kindred spirit. BTW I am 69 and also have a great overall positive life attitude.

Oh! A-ok! 🤓👍. Rock on, girl! I love the concept of approaching the scale as a tool to see if your plan is working or not. And if not, just make the necessary tweaks to the plan. Rather than using it as a way to put oneself down.

right Jessie! not only do we put ourselves down, sometimes we can get all cocky with "good news" from the scale, and then use it as an excuse or a good reason to eat more. it's all too crazy for me, I'm done with that!! glad you are here! Lulu

Wow congrats on your weight loss. As I posted on another video I lost 100 lbs after the sleeve except for a current regain of 15 lbs I have maintained it for 5 years. After struggling with weight my entire adult life lose weight and regain all even after stage lll colon cancer I regained it all. My surgery is only a tool not a fix. We have to work at it to maintain the weight loss.The key for me is to stay active keep moving. I have survived cancer, I have a stent in my widow maker and have some serious orthopedic issues but I am not going back to where I was.

Healthy eating! Watched this episode while chopping veggies for my main meal of veg stir using mostly steam fry, 3 fried eggs in a tad olive oil, & sliced polish sausage made from 100% grass feed beef. Eating low, low carb (under medical supervision) I lost over 100 lbs, and have upped my activity mostly through walking. I have more # to loose, but it’s just a one day at a time, one healthy meal at a time. The Medicare supplement plan I’m looking at signing up for later this year includes a gym membership like planet fitness, so I’m figuring out a small circuit routine to work on some of my weaker muscles when I stop for a shower on the road & boondocking. Enjoy your day.

This is a vast topic.... I think most of us struggle with weight. I most definitely have.. despite my long, fast, harsh workouts. Over the years I've learned to calm down and just be gentle with myself. For me, changing my diet was key. I was determined to do this... mostly eating veggies and some fatty beef, or salmon in small portions. Of course, I lost friends, drinking buddies... some laughed at me .... also asking "What are YOU NOT eating now!!" Some of the blow back was angry. I learned alot along the way... about myself... others. Yeah, it's a journey. But it's soooo worth it. It's so tough for me to slow down... Meditation... also tough for me so I go for a walk... to me that's kinda like meditating... I never get it perfect ... I'm working on letting that go.... walk in gratitude...every step is a prayer... count my blessings. I SOOO wish everyone to find their way in life. As corny as is sounds... I'm glad I found you, Lulu! Do you know how awesome you are! Thank you for your courage to put yourself out there. Much love.

Lulu this was so thought provoking! Thank you so much, my mind is working on this. I love how you point out the difference between “deciding” to make a change and DOING it! Can I ask…was there an external event (leaving a relationship, etc) that spurred you to begin your healthy body journey eight years ago?
@LulusWay64
@LulusWay64 Жыл бұрын
hi Rose!! all the times I decided to lose weight in my life has always been because of an external event, that would be my motivation. but that was never for the long-term. the long-term successful change came when it wasn't about anything other than just being so darn sick and tired of being sick and tired. I was tired of drinking all the time and eating so much and always breaking promises to myself on a daily basis. I just broke and was D-O-N-E!!!! that was 9 years ago. (the 8 years I mentioned in the video was how long I have been maintaining). I'm glad you are here, Rose!! Lulu

Thank you for the talk. I was 5'3 and now am 5 foot. I am making changes in my eating habits. I am finishing my bottle of Western dressing. When its gone its gone. Will just use olive oil and balsamic on salads. I know with a diabetic husband I cant eat like you all the time. You should be praised for your dedication and hard work to get where you are. I went gluten free for a year and used zucchini as my pizza base or a portabella mushroom and enjoyed it. Both my husband lost weight. We don't do bread much but.... I think my hard part will be giving up a BLT sandwich.(we did go back to gluten). I guess I could make a BLT salad and be satisfied. I can see you have made a change in your brain as to eating food.
