Best thing to do if you want long hair is to skip trims along the way. Just let it grow to where you want it and then after that get trims as needed. Your hair will get to your goal much faster this way. No, you won't look like a fool growing it out. (We are always our worst critics.) Just consider it a work in progress and don't keep looking in the mirror. I have never heard a guy with long hair once ever say he was sorry. But I hear complaints all the time from the shorter-medium haircuts. As trims go, she did a GREAT job! :-)

There's no such thing as "improved shape". When you grow your hair for 3 or 4 years it's impossible to notice a 1 inch difference. Actually it's bound to happen because the growth isn't completely uniform. The guy simply lost 5 months worth of growth here. Also he doesn't seem to have the confidence to grow long hair. How about some update to prove me wrong?

I get you but what I meant really was: Enjoy the journey and don't listen to anyone. These kind of people who want to set you back and see you fail are the same type of people who 4 years later will tell you when your hair is waist length "how long did it take you?", "I could never grow my hair long"... The type of people who isn't willing to take a shot at it pretty much so they don't want you to try. Even family members and friends sometimes (not gonna sugarcoat it) but they are the first to back down when they realize you're in it for the long run. My point is that the while others only see the final result, you see, live and enjoy the process. I'm assuming you're a guy who wants long hair. From a guy who is now at 38 months of growth and been exactly where you are now: It's a great experience, you will mature a lot and find a lot about yourself. I'm not going back on short hair anytime soon. You'll eventually reach a point where you can bun it. It's pretty satisfying. Then you'll reach another point where the bun just can't stay still. From this point (18/20 months) is smooth sailing to whatever length you want to achieve really. Rather than me describing it, discover it for yourself, I'm telling it's a wonderful experience! Good luck, and keep yourself inspired!

I think it would've been better to not abuse the wax at the end. Having hair with more volume would've looked better on him, at 3:03 he looked best. I wish i could find a stylist like you guys near me, Ive had so many bad expiriences that i refuse to let anyone touch my hair and its down to my shoulders now and it definitely needs a touch up but im so terrified to go anywhere cause every time i go they mess it up. I once went and asked to get the back trimmed and thinned out so it didnt look like i had a mullet and he basicaly cut 6 inches of my hair off. i was so angry I refused to pay. and i explained more than once what i wanted. I said i wanted to continue growing it out and that i just wanted the back trimmed by maybe an inch or so and i went from almost shoulder length to it barely passing my eyebrows. sigh..
