Maintaining MINI is expensive? My ownership experience with my F56 MCS at 100,000km

What's up gang. The odometer has reached 100,000km and I am happy with how the car is running. Had the car with me since 17,000km or so. Minor upkeeps here and there, fairly in conjunction with how the car has been driven and how the car has aged. MINIs are relatively cheap to maintain, except those big parts like driveshaft, steering rack and turbos etc. The normal day to day maintenance is rather affordable compared to some other continental cars.
Looking forward for several other maintenance work, particularly regarding combustion chamber cleaning with Adrian at NSS Group. Will post that video once I bring the MINI over for the job.

If you drive it like "you just stole it" and do not do the required maintenance, well now, you will have issues. Good friend has a 2015 with 90,000 miles on it and no issues, but he does all services as required. My 2021 Mini Cooper S Countryman All4 has given me zero issues. I am 74 now and stopped "driving it like I stole it" many years ago. However in my day, 68 Z-28, 70 454 Nova, 65 hypo Mustang, 70 Cuda AAR 340x6, Corvettes, Chrysler Crossfire................I had my share and I did drive them like.........!

Great video man, i definitely dont drive my f56 hard at all but useful to know what things need changing over time. 100k km is like 60k miles so to me thats nothing for a car yet haha, ive only done 6k miles in mine since ive owned an f56

Haha seems like a long way to go for you. There are other things to look out for too like control arms but assuming you have warranty then it should be fine.

Though the mini isn’t a cheap car . They are well built , a little pricey to maintain but they are fun and I love mine

Thanks for the comment. Tbh mostly are regular maintenance parts. The only 'repair' jobs were my steering rack refurb (MYR 1200), coolant hose replacement (MYR 400+), all 3 engine mountings (MYR 1000). But given that the car was driven hard during the early years haha. Hope all goes well for your mini

Thanks for the video. Mine is 2015 hardtop base model auto transmission, 140k km on it. I have few problems: car shakes while idle, weak performance, and delayed shifting at 1st and 2nd gear. All problems happened around same time. I changed spark plugs, ignition coils but still. Any advice please?

Shaking while idle ; try to change all 3 engine mounts. Performance ; hard to say. Maybe use performance engine oil, or clean your air intakes

Hi Clement. As what I've heard from R series owners, that 1.6cc turbo engine often has repeated maintenance issues. HPFP, compressor, turbo and so on

Boleh je bro. 1st, bila last you pernah kena flat tire? If dah lama, means your daily commute takde lalu jalan2 yg high risk of puncture. 2nd, harga dan jangka hayat tayar biasa lebih attractive drpd run flat. 3rd, tayar biasa is less noisy and less bumpy than run flat. But lastly, if selalu outstation mungkin perlukan run flat utk peace of mind in case jadi apa apa tak perlu risau tunggu tow truck

Hi bro. If normal service at outside workshop is only around RM 400 for oil change job. If you need to change air filter and some other filters probably around RM 800 900

What about transmission Maintenance, something that should be check? I have a f56 with 80k km

Mini says the transmission fluid is lifetime. But I personally get it changed every 20k 30k km or so. Depends if I brought the car to the circuit or not
