I lucked out; bought my '14 Z51 7MT 1 LT conv. used with about 5K miles from a dealer. And since I've dealt with them for years (my 3rd Vette from them) I was able to negotiate adding free oil changes for life (as long as I own the car) which they offered only on new cars. It's been about three years with an average of two changes a year, truly appreciate it every time I'm at Titus-Will in Olympia, WA and a fine mechanic by the name of Mark. Still drive an hour each way and its worth it for the peace of mind and savings.....thanks for sharing what's needed

I do everything you mentioned in this video myself including the X-pipe install which keeps costs down. I track my car so it goes thru consumables like brakes and tires at a higher then normal rate. Maintenance costs on a C7 are very reasonable and no worse then my wife’s Infiniti Q60. The 0W-40 ESP oil which is approved for track use is pricey verses your standard 5W-30. That’s about the only thing that is more expensive than average. And as mentioned the OLM has you change the oil yearly regardless of mileage. Daily driving I got 7,500 miles between changes. I do the Ranger clutch fluid exchange every other oil change. Brake fluid, due to track events, tends to be twice a year but I’m not worried about the tiny amount in the ABS pump so no dealer visit required. Had my C7 for 2 years now... no problems. Same as yours: Laguna Blue Z51 M7 👍🏼😎

I wouldn’t say they are problems. All sports cars will require more maintenance than normal cars.

That’s cool that you track the car! I installed an Edelbrock Stage 1 on mine so I don’t think this car will be tracking the first half of its life. I’ve decided to keep all original parts in case when I retire, if that’s something I want to do, I can put it back to stock. Videos on my page. I saw you interviewed a friend or you tuber on his pro charger kit, what state do you live in? I’m in ND right now, but hopefully moving to Cali this year

@oneonlyxram4 жыл бұрын
@@CarGuy11 nope, completely stock (and before you ask i know how to drive a manual... haha). It has about 44k miles and it was about 3700 bucks. Apparently they don't check the clutch fluid regularly and it had gone dry some how and that burned it up.

You have to buy lifting pucks they fit in slots in the frame for lifting your car my 2016 3lt Z51 it has only 20000 miles on it like you I get the oil changed once a year I have a vortech supercharger on mine I change the oil on every other oil change

Do my own oil change with a ramp. Figure that if I go 3 or 4 times to do oil change at the dealer the money I go there I can purchase a ramp so I bought the ramp.

Good point but does it matter the car is not level?
@linleyvanacore3036 Жыл бұрын
@@CarGuy11 if you want to get real technical you can add in a (flush half quart of new oil while the oil is draining out of the plugs) I did mine on a ramp that holds the front tires 6.6 inches off the ground yesterday on our new to me c7 z51 and had to add 9.8 quarts total (on level ground to measure to a tee) so I would say all the oil was out of it so don't worrie about that.

I do my own oil change. I change it after every track weekend. Brake pads I also do over a buddy’s house. I only have a ramp lift and not young any more where I can jack the car up and lean down and do the pads. That is also a very easy to do yourself. All the other things mentioned I have the dealer do. I have fat fingers and prone to drop things in place you can’t easily reach.
