I need to do the same thing to a door on my house. You gave me some good ideas 👍 good job Andy. Would silicon work in lieu of nails for some of this?

Welcome! I think silicone could work, but the tricky part is the expanding / contracting. If it is affixed too tightly it could get wrinkles from the different expansion rates. Thanks for watching my Friend! 👍😁
