I got a honda crv too. Would you possibly know what would be causing the idle to fluctuate between 1000 to 2500 rpms while in park?

That sounds like you should have a check engine light. The code readers are fairly cheap now a days, and can point you in the right direction. Could be wiring though. I had a car that did that and had to replace the wiring harness on the engine
