Japan definitely buffed Leo. When he came back he finally beat Gluto, who hasn't beaten him in over 2yrs. He also beat Shinymark who he had a losing streak against. Japan power up is real.

20:00 Finally more top players say this. You can hate a character but to say you hate the game yet KEEP PLAYING IT is just DUMB. I've been saying this to people for ages. I never got top 8 until I learned how to enjoy the game for what it is. The moment you stop enjoying the game you ain't getting better at all. There's plenty of science to back stuff like this up. Don't play Smash if you hate the game, people! You heard it from Maister and MKLeo themselves! Also the US scene is extremely disappointing sometimes. People walking out of venues, mocking people for struggling to get good (I know this happens everywhere but it doesn't happen nearly as much as it does in the US my lord), people discrediting other players' achievements, it's such a toxic environment, which is funny considering how "anti-toxic" the US scene tries to be. It's really just a mask.

Still curious about which match ups he thinks using him though. Byleth does better than Joker on the Shulk match up but I don't think that the same thing can be said for many match ups. And because there are not many Shulk in the US...We probably won't see the Byleth very often.

Joker does slightly better against Sora but I think both do well, both own dk, both do well against gnw, idk for lucario, joker probably does slightly better against rob, byleth is better against fgcs, joker does better against steve but they both are like slight losing/even to him imho

Dude, MAISTER is my GOAT. Seeing him rock people in those Japanese tournaments against those Japanese players really made my day. I’m really happy that the birthplace of ultimate was also the bloom for both of these guys skills. They’ve come so far in their smash bros journeys and have earned so much clout and respect. I think Maister beat Dabuz partly because of Japan and partly because Dabuz barely plays smash these days and most of the time is playing streetfighter at this point. So he's hardly in what I would call peak form as a player. If this was Dabuz from SSC 2023 Maister would be beaten, since that Dabuz double eliminated Miya of all people. Not to lessen the value of Maister's win over Dabuz. But Dabuz isn't in form at the moment or seems to have very much motivation to be.
