Today is embarkation day on Disney Cruise Line as we set sail on the Disney Dream out of Civitavecchia near Rome! I'm bringing you a cabin tour of my deluxe verandah stateroom, showing you around the ship, and sharing our frustration with Disney IT as the Navigator App acts up. All in all a fabulous first day!

I’m here from Adam’s vlogs. I have to confess that I’m usually disappointed when Adam vlogs without Gary, but I am so ashamed to feel that way after following this cruise. You are an awesome vlogger, and I really enjoy your content! I think that we are similar travelers, and I actually really enjoyed the bit about using up inventory. What a great start to your cruise! I love that you guys were rolling with the no app and wi-fi issues. Oh how exciting! It's a wonderful location! Although to be aware you might occasionally hear noise from the pool deck. I never noticed it too late at night or too early in the morning, though. CONGRATULATIONS and have a wonderful trip!

I can’t believe there’s no USB’s by the bed…most cruise lines have them in the lamps underneath. Absolutely hate there’s no kettle in the cabin either…In the Uk all the ships have kettles in the cabins… I’d really love to do a Disney cruise but it’s just to expensive for us… I love that amazing feeling of looking over the balcony as you sail away from your embarkation port…Bliss ascends you.. I was also happy to see the liquid hand soap in the stateroom bathroom when we were on the Dream in April! Bar soap leaves my hands feeling like they have a film on them and it's just a thing for me. The 25th sailing gifts are awesome and we missed them by days. Looking forward to seeing the rest of your cruise vlogs!

7:27 - I've spent 21 days on the sister ship the Disney Fantasy. Next month it will be 28 days. The Dream just hasn't lined up properly to give me a chance to go out on it since I prefer the longer cruises. I'm happy it's doing longer cruises since it's left Port Canaveral.

You mentioned seeing Pompeii on your trip. There are some excellent documentaries by classicist Mary Beard on KZbin. She has explored both Pompeii and Herculaneum in documentaries, as well as all things ancient Rome in her Empire Without Limit series. 😊

You mentioned the Delxue Verandah sleeps 3 - it should have a pull down bed in the ceiling above the sofa/twin to sleep 4. The Deluxe Family actually sleeps up to 5 with the additional wall pull-down bed.

Many do the one I was in does not. If you look at the description in DCL it says they sleep “3-4” and I’m not sure how many only sleep three but I think they often go to VGT assignments as this is the second time I’ve had one like that.
