I will be staying here in July of next year and I can’t wait I am so excited! 🤗 I have been to the Dominican Republic two times both of them on a carnival cruise. The first time I went on the cruise by myself it was my first time cruising and the second year I took my mom and my sister for Christmas and the ship docked in Puerta Plata both times. Now, my best friend from childhood is getting married, and since his fiancé is from the Dominican Republic, they have decided to do a destination wedding. I just got the wedding E-vite and I’m excited and can’t wait to go! thank you for this amazing review. I can already tell that this place is going to be amazing when I get there 🤗🙌

This resort is really nice you guys. We have stayed here about 4 times already. The staff here is amazing. They make you feel welcome unlike Hyatt Zilara cap Cana. They have colorism there. But I highly recommend this majestic mirage.

Love this review. This is the most spot on review of a hotel I think I have seen in a long time. I spent 2 weeks here in October 2021, (2 weeks was marginally more expensive than 1 week), and came with 2 other 40+ year olds. We came for a relaxed, quiet, upscale experience, and Majestic Mirage provided that. I couldn't agree more that the hotel needs a large central pool and the beach for being the "top of the Majestic chain" was not great in comparison to the Elegance or Colonial. If this resort had a larger pool space at the beach like Colonial had/has, and the beach was wider, it would be the perfect resort, for me. But, I agree with the review. Come here if you want an upscale experience where details matter but you are not overly concerned with socializing or spending your day on the beach.

Love your channel!!!!..... Arriving tomorrow for our 5th time.....The swim up rooms are better in my opinion...every person I know who had the rooftop room by the third day had issues with it (stairs are dangerous when wet or navigating when drinking, rain makes the rooftop useless, outdoor shower is iffy) we had the swim up room and it was so awesome...separate private bedroom, huge patio with chairs, sofa bali bed and 2 lounge chairs....private, difficult to peek next door (not that I tried).....ground floor give you faster access to pools, restaurants and beach....one note: the closet by the front door is not used for storage of your personal effects!....that is used for your dirty dishes, cups and small garbage. they come by frequently to clean them out. Also, it is a point of contactless delivery for food as they open the closet from the outside, put your food in, and you access it from inside the room....just thought I'd point it out also, the main pool at Elegance is bigger and more of what you look for. I was surprised the beach looked the way it did...they have a crew 3x a day combing the sand,....the Colonial and Elegance beaches are larger and better kept in my opinion. I think they're still trying to re staff the place as they got rid of 30% of their workforce in the past two years.

Great review! We have stayed at both the Majestic Mirage and Elegance, we prefer Elegance, because of the vibe (less romantic, more enthusiastic). The third property is the Colonial, which we have not stayed but have visited, is family oriented, and I feel, the most rambunctious. Fortunately, for us, we have not experienced any seaweed issues, as you did, and really like the beach and calmness of the ocean. The pools are different, but clean and aesthetically pleasing. We, like you, got a terrace at the FIVES, in Playa Del Carmen, and found it kinda useless. We will be going back to the Majestic Elegance in April, and can't wait. Thank you for the time you put into your channel, you do a great job in informing people of your honest thoughts. Cheers!

The adult side is very quiet. However, the family section is very live. They do dancing class, games and foam party. Loved staying at the Mirage. It’s definitely better than majestic colonial! They also do many activities for children, compared to the colonial. And the food was delicious. Can’t wait to visit again!

Currently staying at the Mirage for 12 days. There is not one speck of seaweed . This is our fourth stay at this resort and it has never been a problem. It's unfortunate and unusual that it was so bad during your stay James.

just got back from a 5 day stay at MM. Beach had no seaweed but was a bit over crowded. we did like the long lazy river type pools. Agree 90% of patrons are couples, a few families. Favorite restaurant was the steak house, we tried all but the French (we had reservations at 9pm, but didn't want to miss the theater show). The nightly shows at 9:30 in the theater were terrific. Really liked the seaside buffet and Cafe Espanol. Bed was super comfy. There were a few quirks and things we didn't like but I guess no property is PERFECT. Would definitely go back.

Some of the best steaks I’ve ever had were in that steakhouse. Not kidding! I was astonished after all the other bad steaks I’ve had in the Caribbean and Mexico. I found the pool perfect. It was more intimate and spread out. I hate a square open pool where everyone is just staring at each other. The beach was also fantastic. Not too busy and no people bugging you to buy things. I’m from florida, so I know my beaches!

I'm wondering what the video creator did at night if not going to the shows. I try not to miss them. Michael Jackson, Rock & Roll, Circus, Dominican, Karaoke and more. The entertainment is professionally presented and the sound is excellent. There is also a small disco shared by Majestic Colonial, Elegance and Mirage that opens after the shows.The spa wasn't mentioned and is excellent. The general vibe is not party or for singles but there is a weekly foam party in the pool that brings people together.

Very much agree with this review. I had the same room and the rooftop was an afterthought. Water pressure is so low it took many hours to fill the hot tub, which was not hot. Food was great and the service was excellent. Although I loved the beach the seaweed was so dense in the water we could not stay in. Only one of the days we were there we could swim. I loved the pool but I was there for total quiet and relaxation. Loved this property and wish I had seen this before we went!

We stayed here 06/04-06/11. We found the food for the most part to be ok. We found the steaks to not have much flavor and the French restaurant really only had 1 French dish. The grounds are awesome and our butler did a great job. The main issue we had was a musky smell in our room. The humidity was so high I don't think they could do anything about. They gave us a dehumidifier and it helped a little. Overall we liked the place but next time we will probably try Majestic Elegance

I haven't, but many people say the hotel experience is similar to punta cana. It's the second most popular Caribbean island for travel/tourism/vacation. DR is #1 as you know.

@@Coolist U definitely need to do Jamaica we have been 3 times and are currently trying to decide dates to go to the DR. Jamaica offers a lot of choice in hotels and gives different experiences with each one The people you meet and interact with (including staff) help make the holiday even better. Will say Jamaica offers a range of activities outside of the hotel too for additional content if you do end up going. Great series we have enjoyed watching so far keep up the great content

It's markedly cheaper to go solo, not more expensive. One less person per room consuming food and drinks... on your favorite travel website, Just plug in one person per room instead of the standard two and you'll see what the solo rate is.

The Majestic brand is captured very well in their name. You should consider Breathless and Hard Rock if you want a balance between good food and lively pool, beach and nightlife. They also have quiet areas. If food is a non issue go with Republica. Food is amongst the worst anywhere but it's a party

For the kids sake, I would switch to elegance. They are going to get bored at mirage. Yes, you can access elegance from mirage, but it's inconvenient to continually or consistently do so.

Excellent, once again! Looked like this was the best for cuisine? Each dinner seemed to get better. The beach issue is disappointing given these resorts are generally on top of this. You did a great job of selecting a good cross section of the different types of resorts. Too bad you missed Rui party events, it's a central, off property, party pool on steroids and there is nothing like it. Next time consider Breathless and Excellence if you do another tour.
