Even my closest family don't feel close enough to see me like that. And I have a wonderful supportive and loving family. It just feels against my nature to show weakness to people I love. It's apart of being a man. When everyone else is weak, sad, hurting, suffering, we do everything we can to hide ours so in that way we strengthen those who can't. That old saying, "I bare it, so you don't have to". In the modern world where things are easier for everyone this way of life doesn't make as much sense, but it's still engrained in all men.

The response "That's okay" to him saying he is going to cry, I feel, is even better considering he is a boy. Because everyone has emotions, everyone should be able to cry when they need to, but I do notice that males are generally looked down upon more for crying (not that females aren't told off for crying at times too, I get told off and I am a girl) but that is what stood out to me.
