So glad I came across this lesson being shown how to use arpeggios to make music rather than just learning endless shapes

Very well explained. Thanks. What are the other three shapes/positions though? Have you got a video for them ? (I can't read tabs/images so I need either a text or verbal breakdown of the other shapes)

Great lesson. When you switch to D would you also switch to D pentatonic? or does the pentatonic stay constant?
@yga4 жыл бұрын
Hi Rafik! You absolutely can do if you want to, but I personally would use the A major pentatonic as it’s the overall key, and makes it a little more melodic in my opinion! Up to you though, give it a try and see what you think!
@rafikguiga964 жыл бұрын
Your Guitar Academy Thanks a lot for the reply! Your videos on how to mix modes and scales into the pentatonic and what notes to target in improvisation to accentuate the mode’s sound are very useful

Thanks men I thought arpeggio played up and down the fret board you but you can play it melodic how come did I never knew that I waste myt time practicing it up and down and it's doesn't sound music to me thank God I watched this

Great lesson, thank you. I’ve always focused on rhythm guitar in the past but now I’m looking into playing beautiful melodic phrases. I just wanted to check though that I can play the Major 7 arpeggio over a major chord as well as over a major 7th chord? Sorry to ask as I’m still finding my way on such things. Very much appreciated
@Kuboll22 жыл бұрын
Sure you can, to major chord it adds additional maj 7th flavor, and for maj 7th chord you just highlight all the notes. You can experiment with adding additional notes such as 9th or 11th etc it will also change the flavor. I suggest you experiment until you find the tones that you like.

Scuse me can I use a maj7 arpeggio over a dominant 7 chord?
@yga4 жыл бұрын
The short answer is no. These are very different chords, and you wouldn't want to blend the two. You can use a major triad arpeggio over the two though, if that helps! Otherwise be sure to learn your dominant 7th arpeggios!

I don't know if the naming is different but it seems to me that you made A major 7th arpeggio in "E shape" (not A shape) for the first and D maj 7th arpeggio in A shape (not D shape) for the second one
