As a former motorcycle parts store dealer i bought chrome swing arm pivot blocks that looked awesome but chrome started to bubble and peel after 5 months. Called them and first thing they asked was if the bike was an everyday use bike, they said their parts were best for show bikes not every day riding. returned all i had of theirs parts enough said !

The majority of hot spots are between the cooling bores. The pads looked near new no property issues, they are still suitable for stock rotors. Conclusion; the Arlen Ness wave rotors were damaged during the machining process. The drill was not properly dressed and the part was not adequately cooled during machining. I would seek a refund.

Definitely should get a refund. New rotors. Should not have warped. I don't think I would have ever considered a scalloped roter anyway.

Hands down those new rotors look 100 percent better! I’m not a gold fan! Sorry your going thought that issue with Arlen ness! Bad customer service turns me away no matter how good your product is! Man, I was just looking at buying an Arlen Ness big sucker, but after watching this, it AIN'T HAPPENIN!!! I am always looking to buy from companies that back their product 100%, but I guess they don't. What chaps my, you know what, is that they are completely ignoring you. That should never happen from a reputable company!! I'll go with DK Customs!!

Some companies don't get it John....after purchase service makes up a company's reputation as well...this will make me think twice on purchasing AN products...customer service is everything....even the respect of returning a phone call. Bike looks great....I like the dark rotors...everyone has the gold ones...

Thanks John I'm sorry for your brake issue thank god you didn't get hurt in the process. Last Saturday I drove my brand new bike home from the Harley dealer I had my wife follow . first thing she said to me about the bike was I couldn't see your lights in the back . I said I know they will be changed out ASAP with custom dynamics. My wife goes you would think with all the money you just dropped they would have better lighting .

I was thinking about purchasing the first ones with the gold center, but after watching hing your video's I changed my mind and purchased the same ones that you ended up with. One hundred in the rotor are warped and chattering. Toke them off and put the OEM rotors back on. Problem solved. Arlen Ness acted like they had no idea what I was talking about. Avoid their rotors completely.

John, Personally i think the new rotors look way better!! I felt the gold ones make the bike look cheap. Very classy now! Glad you got it straighten out! Shit on the company for not reaching out to you! I hope they get an ear full from your subscribers by canceling orders. those marks on the rotors almost look like they were caused by heat, if you haven’t already I would definitely do a brake bleed of the front brakes.

I’ve had a similar problem with their support. I was just nope that’s just how it is. That was a year ago and I’ve never used them again. Lots of options out there. I have to make a bike and breakfast in NJ it’s just a quick hop over from Long Island !

Root-cause analysis of wavy rotors failure (out of round, out of tolerance) purchased through Arlen Ness. Find it hard to believe (but not impossible) that manufacturing machining caused this, as one would believe that their Q.A. Inspection(s) would or should have caught it. Leaves a few other possibilities: how these were stacked, stored, etc. in a warehouse? Or an employee dropped them (somewhere in the process) and failed to report it? Pads? Doubtful that the Break-in/bedding process is culprit. No matter, the lack of Arlen Ness Industries to follow up with you is shocking. I for one would have thought they care about their reputation and customer service satisfaction; but apparently not, at least so far...not. I for one am holding off on any purchases from them until we know how they respond back to you for resolution. I have two Harleys ('21RGS & '22FXLRS) in my garage that I'm doing all sorts of mods & upgrades on, so I'll shop elsewhere for the time being. I'm confident that I'm not the only sub here that feels this way. Best of luck with them and I do hope they respond back soon. You've done more than your part reaching out to them.

Arlen Ness is probably turning over in his grave very sad situation with them. I agree about Ciro I had an issue with one of by headlight bezel lights one side was not working. They had a replacement shipped that arrived in 2 days. Could not have been happier.

Gold center on original front rotors were an eye catcher that took your eye off all the other added beauty to the bike. New rotors are clean looking and clearly cool aftermarket so yo still have a lot better braking ability. Ride safe John!

You are going to have more stopping power on the rotors that are not wave, because you have more of the brake pads contacting the rotor. I like the black parts over the gold parts of the old rotors. I think the gold was to much contrast on the front end

Black rotors look a lot better. The gold waved rotors looked like cheap trail bike rotors. The blue bike looks great except for the tag placement. It would look better centered under the finder.

I had the same issue with my stock Road Glide Rotors, bad metallurgy is the culprit, issue with dealer because rotors were not warped but blue patches all around..............thanks for the information, its very helpful.................................JB..

With the shortage of materials nowadays, the manufacturer is probably using whatever is available. Could be subpar chinesium or incorrect heat treating process.

Great video as always and very detailed about your experiences. I’d be extremely frustrated if I was in your situation and I think you handled it great. On the other end I’ll be sure not to buy anything from them ever give your customer services experience or lack of it I should say regardless if they finally reach out to you and fix the issue or not; you shouldn’t have had to wait even this long.

I use stock Harley pads, in my opinion there the best for our bikes. They aren’t that expensive and they’re Brembo's to boot!

John, thanks for the honest video. Love the fact you’ll shoot it straight rather than sell a product. From the perspective of a guy in manufacturing, it appears that the batch of those rotors were heat treated or mchined the wrong way which warped them and made it harder in some spots and softer in other which is why there are burn marks.

Those rotors do look better than the ones with the gold carrier. It seems there may be a manufacturing problem with those oversized floating rotors if other people are having the same issue. I'm going with Galfer when I decide to make the switch.

I'm not going to lie, I've heard SO many people say they have had warping problems with 11.5, 11.8, 13, 14 inch rotors warping in a short period of time. I hate companies that aren't there for their customers. I certainly hope the second set didn't give you a hard time!

I'm really curious if you have noticed this. it's only been a couple of week ago and I installed some new galfer rotors and I used those exact same arlen ness bolts that you used. 20 road glide special with the prodigy wheels. the conical washers that arlen ness uses would not allow my rotor to float at all. essentially tuned them into solid mount rotors. fortunately, galfer supplied some washers with the rotors that are the exact same oem wafer style. and now my rotors float like they should.

Bought arlen ness rotors. Similar but the 13" . They have that pulse action on the brake lever as well. They have that wave style of cut. Very disappointing 😞

I am also having issues with mine as well. I dont get lever pulsation but I am getting a vibration at lower speeds that felt like a bad bearing. Changed the bearings and the issue is still there. Bummed
