I am looking for torque mostly. Very rarely do I load up where I feel like more HP are needed. Hence, my decision to go for a S&S Stage II build (cam plate, oil pump, gear cams, lifters, etc got my engine and heads rebuild). I paid attention to good accessories, though. Rineharts header with 4" slip on's, true heavy breather with EBS from DK Customs. Ride safe 🤙

The Screamin Eagle cam in the 131 kit is absolute junk. Speaking from personal experience, they're a whole different animal with a decent cam and a tune.

2020 ultra limited I blew my brand new motor with only 373miles now I have 131 kit from Harley I had to put in a few bucks saved on all the labour I’m true believer don’t screw with factory warranty you never know what could happen!!

Determine veteran is correct if you keep the warranty on a new bike and your traveling across the country or out of state and something happens with the motor you can go to any harley dealer and your covered . John when your bike broke down in Laconia if it wasn’t for that one company I’m sorry I forgot the name you would have been screwed because harley couldn’t help you plus if your not taking the bike to the track how much power do you actually need.

Great vid, interesting to see how a proper stage 2 would destroy a 131. To hell with warranty if you ask me lol. Also, I’ve got a power vision on my bike and can confirm that there is no speed limiting. It has topped 5th gear at around 170 mph on the dyno (6500 rpm) which was manually set by my tuner.

Im not sure how I feel about mandatory military service, but there are times where civilians really get on my nerves. I did 2 years in the US Army Field Artillery, and I definitely miss the "MOVE WITH A PURPOSE!" attitude lots of people had. We got stuff to do, no time to waste on lollygagging around. MOVE IT. Civilians have a bad habit of walking in the way, moseying along at shambling paces and being in the way for no reason other than a total lack of awareness, selfishness, and disrespect for others around them. It bothers me. More people would be consider of other people's time and presence if more people would be required to serve in the army for a little while. At least go through basic training and AIT to get something worth the experience out of it. I also dont appreciate the total disrespect so many people have for veterans as well. There should never be such a thing as a homeless vet or someone who thinks vets dont deserve to be handled with care after they exit service. These people did what few people would, no matter what the reason, and so many people fail to care for vets after they're exited from the military. I feel like more people would care about us if they'd also been in the military.

IMO, you have one hotrod in the garage. I’d just build a bullet proof Stage 2 with epic exhaust, tuner, S&S or Redshift Cam with a Rekluse Torque Clutch, Legends front & back, Michelins and a Saddleman to boot, since you’re gonna throw down miles with this bike, check the Bun Burner 1500 in 36 hours, maybe an Iron Butt 2000 in 48 hours, off the list AND maybe go get the Lower 48 States under your belt to really show how reliable and comfortable that Softail is over the long haul. Been seeing some of these hot rods of late with engine problems, leaks, etc… and there’s nothing worse than my bike in the shop while my boys are riding. Reliability & ride ability trumps big numbers for me. Just sayin. Stage 2 still rocks, passes traffic when you need to get it, and blows great sound.

Just finished up with my S&S 124 build pretty much all the same parts as John's build and I used the 66mm throttle body and manifold and my numbers were 140hp/150tq but we all understand that screaming eagle keeps that warranty intact I'm not a big warranty guy especially the warranty provided by Harley Davidson 😂

It only voids the HD factory warranty. If a certified dealer/ shop doesn't do the upgrades and parts. But they'll warranty the work and labor if they install aftermarket parts.

John, Perfect idea for a youtube video, how about a live question broadcast with Dave? He can answer so many questions on performance builds, what he likes versus what he dont as far as companies in the performance market. What he likes as far as cams to use and so fourth. Maybe even get some of the companies to sponsor you and to get them to to give a little discount to your subscribers. I think this could be a huge success for you and Dave and even the performance companies if they were to jump on board. Just a thought.
