Collin from Sailing Parlay Revival found the compression post in the salon above that repair totally rusted out from the water from the mast, might be worth removing the trim to check.(Sailing Parlay Revival episode 220)

Interesting. Id venture a guess that most everyone who is looking at cats to buy will laugh at anyone even considering a Lagoon. Years of sub par building has put a lot of owners in peril.

To be fair, AFAIK there is a technical notice about this from Lagoon, so in theory everybody should know about the locker/nacelle drainage issue. It looks like you are doing this in time before worse happens.
@BarefootTravels8 ай бұрын
Lagoon actually sent out a rep who drilled a couple holes to help with the water accumulation. He unfortunately didn’t notice that it was already rotting out at that point. The holes that were drilled didn’t really help as they were still too high to let the water out

Not sure what camera you are using but the quality of the picture is stunning. My PC says 1080p but looks more like 4K. Would be awesome to know what camera .. cheers guys.

Hello Davie! Did you find a mast?
@BarefootTravels8 ай бұрын
Nope. Not yet
@rayboucher4798 ай бұрын
Can you not just do it from one side and just grind and cut bad the rotten wood from one side until you hit the Fiberglass on the back side and hopefully not damage it too much . Then apply Fiberglass to repair and strengthen the remaining glass and epoxy new fibre board and Fiberglass to finish . May be more work and a lot dirtier but might prevent you from having to go in from the rear matey ! Good luck I love watching your show and have not seen it for a while.
@BarefootTravels8 ай бұрын
It needs to be a double sided repair. From the anchor locker I can get the worst of the rot out but to add strength I need to chase any cracks from the inside and glass for strength
@faircompetition12038 ай бұрын
No biggy , it just holds up the mast and the two hulls on - not like it needs to be solid - right Lagoon ? Plus this looks like the kind of thing any owner can do himself ........ If only they made a core material that did not rot ? The Builder could have used that for a spot that anyone with a mast knows would get wet . I also note that drilling holes to drain without then filling the holes with epoxy will also let water into the core and if you did that to my boat they might not find your body ......

Shockingly badly built boats. Aluminium is so much better.
