Hahaha 💛 I feel you! You’ll get there, you will! For me I just needed a bit of liquid courage and force (sitting at a table full of Germans who don’t speak English 3 nights a week definitely did it for me 😂)

My aktenzeichen is dated June 2024. I’ll be very shocked if it gets approved in 2025. It will more than likely be middle to end of 2026. I wonder how they’re going to handle the situation moving forward as applications will keep piling up if they do nothing.

What about people that have family that came from Germany (gGrandpa), but he naturalized in the US correctly, which means I do not qualify for citizenship by descent. I have to do it the old fashioned way, or the long way. Your link for Migrando seems to be for people currently in Germany. What if you are not yet?

Nice video! Honestly, if you have a German spouse I do not think that anyone can refuse to give you permanent residency or citizenship. These regulations can be for people who came from Africa or Asia looking for the benefits.

Originally, there was no dual citizenship in Germany. To acquire German citizenship, you had to give up the other one. Only the pressure of so many Franco-German couples made that originally possible that EU citizens might get a dual citizenship. This was gradually expanded to non-EU citizens, like we have now.

The federal elections are highly likely to be set for February 2025 due to the coalition breaking down earlier this month. We are about to know what CDU will do with dual citizenship much earlier since they are getting the highest percentage on surveys. So far, they say this is one of the things they want to change. Another point to consider is you must meet requirements not only on the day of application but on the day of receiving certification as well. This means if they change the law, you must meet the requirements of the new law when you get the certificate. Who knows whether they will keep dual citizenship or not.

If the CDU or God helps us the AfD comes into government, the law allowing dual citizenship for at least non EU citizens will be scrapped.

I mean… if documents are missing from your application, they’ll let you know and keep you in the pile of applications… but typically as soon as they require more info from you, your application goes back to the bottom of the pile 🙈 so I don’t think it helps much

Der politische Teil dieses Videos geht eher in die extreme Richtung, was den Standpunkt angeht. Ja, die AFD ist strikter bei der Einwanderung, aber schau dir die aktuelle Situation in Deutschland an. Die AFD als rechtsextreme Partei zu bezeichnen, ist Unsinn und würde nur Sinn machen, wenn die Ideologie einer Person so weit am anderen Ende des Spektrums liegt. Wenn die AFD an die Macht käme, würde ich erwarten, dass Änderungen vorgenommen werden und die Einwanderung etwas härter wird, aber nicht in dem Ausmaß, wie es in den Medien propagiert wird.
