Next time you want to clean hinges or anything metal (even cast iron!), whether rusty or painted, throw the object in vinegar. You can boil the vinegar or not. I'm not sure it matters. Works a treat! 😁

Bar keepers friend works best when the object you’re cleaning is hot. Amazing! I use it with dish soap to help move it around. Leave the door frame white. The rest of the molding is white. And the door stands out more. Merry Christmas

Loving the new look for the front door Cambria!! I have to agree the natural wood look is so much nicer. I’m not sure about the frame to be honest. Do other doors match their frames? Ugh. I’m sorry. Beautiful door, I would leave it the raw wood on both sides and put a coat of polyurethane to protect it. Leave the trim around the door white and I would paint the hardware black as you mentioned.

That is a beautiful door, it will look awesome when it's stained. I would leave the trim around it white, it's probably not the same species of wood and won't stain the same color.

Great video! I would keep door trim white. If it were mine and I changed door casing then I wouldn’t want to stop and think I need baseboards to be wood too. Can’t wait to see the door when it’s finished it’s going to look fantastic!

Also, the casing to match the door to make it look more complete. I have the same problem with my pans n pots. I’ve tried what you did but not very much difference. Love your bedroom! I don't have any luck with Barkeepers friend, I just use an SOS pad on the bottom of my pans and cookie sheets, works much better with less scrubbing! Worth a try!

I live on a family compound of sorts with my family. Me, My Husband, his Mom, and our Son and his family are all sitting together on about 85 acres. Because there is so much land, are separate homes are pretty spread out, but I can get to all three places on my golf cart, and I do often. I joke that we live on a family commune because about 90% of my Husband’s family on his Mom’s side lives on the same road as us and someone is always stopping in to say hi. All of his Uncles live on our street, his Aunt lives one road over, and he’s got cousins living on the same property as my Husband’s Uncles. These kind of family homesteads are actually pretty common where I live in rural Kentucky and there are a lot of families who live on properties together. I think it’s awesome because we all get along anyway AND this way we can keep an eye on my MIL and this will allow her to age in place at her home longer than some of her peers.

Just do the door. If you do the outside trim, you would really have to match that to the window frames. And that would be super hard to do! The door by itself will look magical!

Just a little tip. If your clean the bottom of your pans when you wash the inside, you will not get a build up like you have. That's why it took you so long go get the pan clean. I noticed you do not usually clean the bottoms of your pans. Trust me it will help in the long run. Good luck.

It would be good to do the front door casing, only issue, is it the same type of wood? Would it look uniformed or could you end up with two very obvious different wood colors? I might do a strip test first just to see. I think when you finally get the residual paint off the door and an nice varnish to protect the door it is going to look great.
