It's so true about clothes being out of sight, out of mind. It goes to show that we really don't need to be adding things so frequently to our collection. Great video! 💕

Maybe a styling video featuring your maybes? Might help you decide whether or not to keep them. It may also remind you why you’re holding on to them.

Have the maybe oversized pink dress that you pin altered so that it fits well, then you can love it 😉

I just might have to do this!

Suggestion: keep your "maybe" clothes in a separate place, and challenge yourself to wear each item in the next month. After you have worn it, decide on whether or not to keep that item. Don't worry about whether you have anywhere to wear it. Just wear it anyway to give it a test run.

This is so true! I have lots of clothes at my parents house that I never miss. And I still have lots of clothes here but always wear the same things 🤦🏼♀️ we wear 20% of our clothes 80% of the time

You should take the pink wrap dress to a tailor to see if it can be adjusted with snaps to prevent the pinning. I just did this with one of my dresses and I am so happy! Wearing the dress all the time now. Thanks for this great video!💚💚💚

Hey Erin, great video. Somehow it’s always inspiring to watch someone else do a closet clean out! Then I feel like I should get to my closet yet again. I almost have a complete capsule wardrobe which was no small task. You’re so right though, if you box away clothes you’re not wearing you forget about them and that is one sure way to clean out your closet. Thanks for sharing!

Every time! Out of sight out of mind haha. That's really impressive to have your wardrobe pretty much nailed down! I feel I have a really solid base now but I still like to add things here are there :) Definitely a process!

You should try to wear the plaid one around Christmas! I have a Christmas Capsule that I use pieces like that for :).

I think it would be helpful to try on the maybes and see how they fit and how you would style them.

I think you should keep the shirts. I like a looser, boxy fit when wearing a shirt alone, but under a jacket/sweater, a slimmer fit looks and feels better. Agree with the others that mention taking the pink dress to the tailor.

I understand the struggle about keeping clothes that feel like a closet staple (the plaid shirt), but in cases like that, one thing I like to ask myself is if it truly feels like something you'd wear in your own day to day life versus holding onto it just because everyone else has it. I know you're not a minimalist when it comes to clothes Erin, but being realistic about why you're keeping things could really help you become more ruthless in your choices. Thanks for sharing this fun video btw! 😊

I like the questions you ask yourself about 2 Blavatsky button downs and 2 white button downs. I can see why length and cut would cause you to keep all 4.

It's great that you have all your clothes with you and in order again,i find I'm calmer when my closet is in order 😅 you are so right about clothes we like but need adjustments every time we want to wear them (like pinning), i rarely wear them and always end up giving them away or recycling them because I prefer clothes that fit me perfectly...very often they are wrap dresses or tops I don't know why i keep buying them😅ps i love your camel coat!
@byerinelizabeth3 жыл бұрын
hahah I'm the exact same! It's so annoying constantly adjusting your clothing. The things I wear the most are always the things that tend to fit perfectly and I don't need to do anything extra lol

Loved the video! I recently moved and also got rid of half my clothes or so. My rule is, if I don't wear for a year (with some exceptions like ski gear), I have to get rid of it. And yet I still feel like I'm keeping a couple pieces that aren't going to get much use 😅

Tip: If any of your party dresses are trendy, it might be good to sell them while there’s still a demand for the trend. Also, by the time the holiday season begins, they may have lost that wow factor.
