Yes I agree that we have the money to pay him, but remember that we pay Terry 22 mil a year and he wants more than him. That sends a bad look at our number 1. I wouldn't pay him more than Terry. If our O line sucks were going to need that money to sign someone really good to protect our QB. Our SB teams were built with great D n O lines. That's the key to winning n going deep in the playoffs. Our skill players will flourish if our O line can run n pass block.

Aiyuk is amazing but it would be bad business for Washington. We are rebuilding and want to keep our players young and cheap. Need to keep our draft picks and build on positions of need. I think Terry is better anyway because of their situations. Aiyuk put up great numbers in a comfortable situation whereas Terry put up multiple 1000 yard seasons with double digit QBs, on a team where the culture WAS trash that had 3 different names, and terrible coaching.

D - only because we do not know what we have in Jahan Dotson and even Dyami Brown, they have not had a legitimate NFL QB throwing the ball to them. I will also say DO NOT FORGET Jamison Crowder, he is only 31 and he had to deal with ZACH Wilson as his QB. When he left Washington the first time, statistically he was the same receiver as Stephon Diggs. He hasn't had a legitimate NFL QB throwing to him and he could have a massive resurgence in his career if JD5 is who we think he is. Then you have Luke McAffrey, I hate doing the whole he is going to be good because his brother is a star think but Luke is an unknown quantity, what if he blows up? Brandon would be nice to have but not at 30 mil per season. I don't want to risk upsetting the chemistry in the WR room. I will also say and I hope to high heaven this isn't the case, but what if JD5 is a total bust? Then you have spent huge money on a WR that you are locked into for at least three years with no QB to throw the ball to him.

A I love Scary Terry. But this is a no brainer of a trade for BOTH sides. 49ers get a great #1B/ 2 at half the cost. Affording them the ability to keep the rest of team together for a few years. We would get a stronger, taller, 12-20 spot higher rated receiver. BUT Aiyuk would need to accept 27M 1st year, 30M yr2-4 or 5. It would show JD front office is serious about helping him. Plus possibly leaving enough for Bahktiari.......Really falls down to the fine print of trade (no more than terry and a 4th or 5th) and Aiyuk would have to take less yr 1 and make up yr 2-4

Peters had a great relationship with Aiyuk, and most knew if there was a chance of Peters bringing him over he would have. There is no chance Peters would pay Aiyuk what he is asking, no fkn way in hell. He would have to take much much less but if he doesn't feel like he is wanted at San Fran, perhaps he would take less to be able to get back with Peters and play with his close friend from college. Its a great story, but I don't see it.
