That $600k to change the name from dundas square to sankofa square could've been used to improve the drainage problem in toronto.

@@blainepotskin1884 "geo engineering" conspiracy is the highest level of copium available. Unless you mean geo-engineering in the sense that humans use 2.5x the Earths biocapacity yearly. You mean geo-engineering in the sense that we pollute the planet until the lakes are bloated and the marshes are gone that would otherwise be water and carbon sinks.....right? And you're worried about a tax?

dude I have been having water coming into my basement for 5 hours or something like that. It's slowed but still coming in as of 830pm. I luckily bought a small USB pump that can push about 300L/h and that with water just getting to the basement drain kept it from rising. I'd estimate it was probably 1500-2000L just in my basement so far. I also unblocked storm gutters outside and they were just blasting water up to maybe a foot from the top. the whole back alley was flooded maybe 4 inches deep but that is almost all drained now.

why is this news? obviously it happens when you build so close to water ways and when most of the region is not elevated enough above sea levels. every year they keep showing this and act surprised. time to rethink how to construct and develop urban areas.
