Hey guys! I was a little disappointed in the way that P.Louise went about this months budget box. I dont think its fair to have variations based on skin tones and then just send random ones to your monthly subscribers knowing there is a good likelihood that they will receive products that are not intended for their skin tone. It feels soooo inconsiderate of consumers to just force a random shade selection upon them... ESPECIALLY for a paid product. Just because it's the budget box doesn't mean you get to treat your customer poorly. Feels very lazy and wasteful, as people that get the wrong shades likely will not use the products, and not everyone will have the means to give unused items to people that would use them.

In theory you might be able to use the products for other purposes ( like eyeshadow for a too deep bronzer), but I agree I dislike it when they have complexion/ skin tone dependent products in sub boxes if you can’t pick your shade range. Even for boxes that ‘do’ , the colours rarely match you for real. They are all too light or too dark

This is a box primarily intended to build kits for make up artists so while I agree with you I also feel that since you also know this that you should make a point of saying that explicitly as well when these kinds of concerns are raised to be totally fair to everyone.

I agree, Alexandria!!!! They should ask what tone you’d like, if they’re sending a skin-tone themed box. I get a sub box for Pusheen and when I signed up for the subscription I was able to select my sizes in case they sent something wearable. I don’t see why P. Louise can’t do something like that. 😕

Paige has said they r in the process of doing something like that for the future but it takes time to set it up, this has also been the first time to have a skin toned makeup in the budget boxes, also I am very pale and still able to use everything the face palette was the only thing I needed to use different then it supposed to be used I use it as eyeshadow

it is interesting they don't ask your skin tone when you sign up for this in general... it would make sense to have a few questions answered at signup, just in case they ever come up in situations like this it's also interesting that this is kind of the reverse of what a lot of people tend to see - people of color (usually Black people or people with a darker complexion) end up with products they can't use because they're too light, because lots of companies assume white/light complexion is the default

Completely agree. Also, her receiving darker skin tone variations is not the norm for this company in general. It's very light/pink/beige in everything they make, so I'm kinda surprised they even make something with POC in mind....🤔

But is not this p Louise subscription box made for makeup artist in mind? So it’s not intended for it all to be your face tone. But things you can use on your clients as well. But I agree love that POC are thought of. Because that’s to bad they get left out many times

For warmer weather I definitely recommend investing in some linen buttoned shirts. I wear a tank top under and then cover up with the unbuttoned shirt, wearing it like a jacket. ❤ That’s all Ive been wearing the past few summers and it’s v light and has good airflow.

I got lucky and received the same egg for medium skin tone. It matched me. But I agree, I was a bit worried that I would get the fair one. The dark one would fit for my summer skin. So I had a good chance. I initially bought the box after seeing your first p.louise unboxing and I'm completely satisfied! Iconic London does a glittery setting spray like the one in the egg. I always get excited and happy when the notification for your videos comes up! You make my day!😊

I passed on March’s Budget Box because we couldn’t select the shade of it & my gut was saying the darker shades would be what people would get. I have fair to light skin tone. Thats the price you pay to get it cheaper vs purchasing it with the skin tone you select yourself and $30 more vs budget box cost w/shipping

I'd personally take the face quad you got and use it for eyeshadow, cause all the colors minus the pink are ones I use a lot for eye looks. I'd probably find a way to pop the pink pan out and hand it off to my sister,since it's something she'd like. Definitely not okay that they randomly sent them to subscribers, though. There should've been an email or something for people to pick which they wanted

I love watching your videos and have been for years. I do miss seeing you swatch the items in the boxes. I understand you want to be able to pass things along to others, but you could cleanly test the items using a q-tip or something like that. I really wish I could see the consistency/pigment of these things, even if they are not the best colours for you, so I could determine whether or not I would like to purchase them myself. I could go to their website if I just wanted to see what was in the box. Just a suggestion :)

If you're looking for new summer clothes, may I recomment double gauze for that fluffy soft but breathable feel, ramie for soft but tough if you can find it (older than linen, making a comeback) or viscose linen for that softer than linen but breathable feel, just viscose is a bit thin but so very soft. I've got some sensory issues sometimes so I'm very into ultra soft and/or fluffy. Picked up some fabrics the other month so had a good feel on what nice summer fabrics feel like. I don't know how I'm gonna live with jeans anymore. Velour is my between season pick, soft but warm without being too thick.

I have been watching you for over 5 years now. This was my first plouise box and I have the pastiest white Irish skin… and I got the deep variation. On the bright side the body glow actually gives me a light natural looking tan. The lip balms come out basically clear no matter how deep they look. The shimmer setting spray I’m scared to try as it looks very dark but I’m sure I’ll find a use but we’ll see. The palette is the most difficult though for me to work with, I might use the shades as eyeshadows…

maybe to keep cooler, you could get long sleeve sport shirts? like think, wicking fabric like under armour, and then you can size up if you want to to be looser and more comfy. i have a ‘jacket’ like this, and a bit thinker but similar i have a uv resistant shirt i got on a florida vacation- it’s definitely cooling even though it kinda feels thicker, so that would provide a more sweatshirt like feel! cheers from texas!

Hi I live in the UK and Alexandria has mentioned the main reason why I don’t subscribe to the monthly budget box. Everytime, I see an unboxing, the colours I see are for fair and light skin tones. Occasionally, I see colours that would work well on medium and tan but I NEVER see anything that will work on dark/deep skin tones. If they allowed for customisation or a beauty profile quiz, I’m sure they would have more customers. I know i would sign up immediately. Because i love all their packaging and i heard the product quality is pretty good. Unfortunately, I’ll never get to try. 😢

I watched a UK youtuber open hers, she got the darker shade, and she's blonde... She knew that getting it in the subscription box would be a risk since you get one of the 3 boxes, but she took it because ordering the egg by itself in the right shade was more expensive and shipped later on. Edit : naked mole rat face is beautiful and radiant face ! I don't feel you need any makeup ! But it would have been fun to have something to try on.

Then my brain went crazy trying to figure out how to make biodegradable packaging peanuts edible (decided it probably isn’t a good idea since it’s jostling in a box that probably isn’t sanitary). Have you ever tried using some of those intense blush colors as eyeshadows? I don’t use blush since my skin tone tends to already be pinky and I flush. I got a blush is some kit and it is go-to transition shade for my eyeshadow

Yeah, now that I'm looking at your box I (a pretty fair person) received the darkest box. Fair enough , a lot of people with darker skin tones get products they can't use in subscription boxes so I'm not going to complain. I'm keeping what I can use and donating the rest to older teens in foster care via a work friend. It's not like I don't have more makeup than I can use in a life time! :'P PS- Love your videos!!!

Hey, I got the darkest one and Im fair skinned. The lip items are really sheer! So far i've been able to use all products except for the face pallet. But then again it worked fine as eyeshadow. I have more problems with the amount of lipoils we got in the past few months

How disappointing P. Louise! Sending a random box like that to their subscribers that is wholly based on skin tone but if you just go to their website and purchase the box you can choose which shade you want 😳 EVERYONE should’ve gotten a chance to choose. I am very fair with cool pink undertones. I could use the lip items maybe and I would use the face palette as eye shadow. I would most likely give that away though, along with all the glow products. I don’t mind a little glow, but by the time you get done with all that stuff you’ll be looking like you’re on your way to OZ to ask the wizard for a heart 😂😂 anyway tyfs with us.
