El localismo y la retórica de "mi tierra" es la herencia maldita que nos ha dejado cualquier folklore y es lo peor que le puede suceder a la cultura musical (y la cultura en general). Buscando videos de #Bollywood y danza clásica de la India, me encuentro con esta simpática coreografía. Técnicamente se le podran reprochar algunas cosas (quienes se dedican a la danza profesionalmente lo saben, yo no porque no soy una bailarina sino solo una practicante de este estilo). Pero nadie puede negar la pasión de estas jóvenes, esa alegría que brota de un cuerpo en movemiento sin importar si está bien o mal o si es técnicamente o no correcto. En lugar de destacar esas cualidades me encuentro con cientos de comentarios de usuarios con expresiones tales como "White people are the greatest imitators on the planet... " o "White girls trying to act like indians" y demás de ese estilo. Como si la cultura tuviese dueño, como si la danza tuviese que estar patentada, como si nos hubiesemos acostumbrado a una especie de xenofobia edulcorada en pos de la "tradición". Ejemplos de estos sobran en el folklore rioplatense de espaldas rígidas y galanteo de macho, que niega las raíces negras y las influencias de otras culturas en muchas de nuestras danzas populares.Descontando que este estilo de danza india no es lo más antiguo de ese país sino, por el contrario, una fusión de muchos estilos que se ha hecho conocido por ser explotado comercialmente a través de cientos de películas del género; me llama la atención como hemos dejado pasar estas prácticas que, en lugar de ser argumentos para el refugio de las expresiones de una determinada cultura, parecen ser más el chivo expiatorio de un quietismo y un conservadurismo que, al menos a mí en estos tiempos, se me hace insoportable. En fin, #VivaLaDanza, de aquí y de todos lados. Sea ejecutada por quien sea, siempre que sea el corazón (además de los pies) el que baile. . Por cierto, felicitaciones a estas hermosas bailarinas :) Sigan así, sacando la danza fuera de quienes se creen dueños de los templos de la tradición.
