I would suggest playing these licks in a bunch of different keys, and then see if you can compose something based on them, as its always best to take a creative approach. Honestly the best guitar teacher! I’m a fairly advanced ear musician, who unfortunately took the lazy way out and skipped my theory, and lots of modes and scales. So now I’ve hit a wall I need it to get past and expand my musical language. I’ve been looking for someone that can explain these things well. And I haven’t found a better teacher! Been doing a video or two a night and catching up real quick ! Thanks man!!

+Romz Narvaez if your goal is to be able to solo and create melodies, then learning scales, arpeggios and interesting ways of navigating through them is a big part of that process.
