Hey thanks Callum Chesterman Witts , glad you liked this lesson. Thats what its all about; finding licks, breaking them down, figuring out how they work and then reusing their components. I would suggest playing these licks in a bunch of different keys, and then see if you can compose something based on them, as its always best to take a creative approach. Honestly the best guitar teacher! I’m a fairly advanced ear musician, who unfortunately took the lazy way out and skipped my theory, and lots of modes and scales. So now I’ve hit a wall I need it to get past and expand my musical language. I’ve been looking for someone that can explain these things well. And I haven’t found a better teacher! Been doing a video or two a night and catching up real quick ! Thanks man!!

This is awesome man!! I've seen plenty of videos on youtube for Soloing tutorial but this one is the BEST. looking forward to see more of these kind, "soloing over Major Keys" perhaps with the root note other than D. ..CHEERS !! thanks for the upload. you've made me a HUGE FAN of yours.

Ya cant help but agree that you play some amazing phrases. I want to learn the thirds patterns for major keys.....love that tonality....thank you the chord run of the major scale is sweet too Its like a little composition , and you probably playd this randomly, nice man

Very useful tips as ever Rob. I feel the background music takes something away from the vibe of the video, makes it feel less intimate maybe, but that's just my preference. More importantly though, cheers for the lesson! -Jamie

I should probably use a totally different account for this because my username but man this really helps a bunch just from watching this im more fluid in my playing ive been playing for about 6 years now but stopped improving at a certain point and became frustrated your very good at teaching

Great video man if i want to solo over these chord progression in a song G A C D, how are you/me going to change so quickly from one pattern to the other. say i start soloing in G but then A chord comes. So do i change the pattern from G to A major pentatonic or what do i do?

+Romz Narvaez if your goal is to be able to solo and create melodies, then learning scales, arpeggios and interesting ways of navigating through them is a big part of that process.
