again I have had this problem... First you need to check that you anr not causing a short with your pints ? if you have any electro frog points then you need strategic electrical breaks in the track... also if you have accidentally wired one of your track loops +/- opposite to the others ,easily done,I did it. try and isolate the issue. remove all locomotives and stock from the layout, and check the track for lying tools ,stray pins etc . next set all your points to a simple strait route. if you have more than one controler run 1 loco around using only 1 controller at a time . be sure to completely unplug all other controllers while testing . Oh and most importantly do this testing lark sober , i was pissed and it took me forever to find the issue . The problem on mine was that my 3rd controler was conflicting with the other 2 . This was simply fixed by only throwing a certain set of point when controler 1 was in neutral , easy no short no rewire . .... hope this helps simon.

My guess would be its a problem with the controller as the train stops slowly and doesn't seem to loose all power immediately, like it would do with a short. Try a different controller and see if that helps?

does it resume from where it stopped after 5 minutes? my guess would be something is tripping your controller's thermal cut out. Do you have another controller you can try?
