Partnerships will ruin a friendship i have done it in the past. Make sure yoy understand what can happen legally before you jump ship

After making the merger, do you have any advice? I’ve literally found myself in the same position where another local company and my company are the two highest competitors in our area. He’s actually presented me with the idea of a merger! It would almost instantly take us to a million dollar business. So we’re talking about all of the details and we both want a win win where we set ourselves up to dominate the local market. It’s really making sense and I can absolutely see where he’s strong in my weak spots and vise versa. It’s exciting to think about!

Congrats Austin. I can honestly say you come off as one of the more genuine pressure washing channels. I started up last year and it’s up and down but watching and listening to guys like yourself go through the beginning struggle gives me confidence. As a 37 year old quitting a six figure career, it’s been a eye opener, but the good times are what drives me to keep going.

AUSTIN… it’s critical you have a RIGHT OF FIRST REFUSAL clause in your partnership agreement. Should your new partner have to exit the business for ANY reason in the future (changing of life goals, family or medical issues, etc) this can give you first dibs on buying out his shares, consent/refusal to the party he wishes to sell to if the price is right but their goals do not align with yours, etc. This is the single most overlooked necessity in partnership agreements and you need to research this if you haven’t already. Good Luck!

Congrats man! Awesome to see. I’ve been questioning the long term goals of our business as well. A lot of similarities in our personality’s & story’s. As you said, don’t want to be doing this when we’re 50, but also it’s working so well. Maybe I will consider growing & expanding. We’re in a smaller market in central Arkansas, but at the end of the day there’s no excuse! Money to be made all over. Good luck! Can’t wait to see where it takes you.

Wishing you guys the best of luck, Austin! I have experience with business partnerships and running multiple companies. Partnerships can become very challenging over time. One or more people can start to feel taken advantage of or like things aren’t quite as financially fair as they should be. My best piece of advice for you guys would be to invest money in business consulting, which will help you to forge the best possible relationship legally, and on the ground. You two will be laying a foundation that the next decades will sit on. You want to do it right from the beginning. Stepping into something exciting like this can become the new “shiny object syndrome,” much like being drawn to buying a new skid versus starting out right. I have no doubt you guys are going to do outstanding together. But you really do want to be showered with wisdom that is coming from much more successful companies than yourselves. Business consulting will set you guys up for success. I have a number of personal stories. I would be happy to share privately I you ever want. Close colleagues of mine, my own businesses, other businesses in my networks that have all said the same thing regarding partnerships and their challenges.

I lost my company by signing my customers to him and signing away my company name. Partnerships rarely ever work in business. My Dad started his own firm 45 years ago, and part of his job is providing business and financial advice to companies. In his 45 years, of all the partnerships that came to him for the various services he's provided, none of them stayed in business more than a few years. The problem is, you can't have a 50/50 business. One person has to have the final say, and the other person has to be ok with that and as you can imagine, no one wants to be the 49%. Worried for you bro. Merging your business to his, you're about to sign away all the work you've done to build it when it doesn't work out.

Congratulations brother!!! Proud of you and where you stared and where you came from. I signed up for your 6- figure frame work. Been watching videos everyday!!! Well worth the $29.00 a month. I started back in 2021. And ordered a pressure washing trailer from Shawn Hodges long story short he screwed me and my business for $24,000. Fast forward to today… finally purchased some small Simpson pressure washer , tools , hose reels, etc from your video earlier this year. That list you added to your KZbin channel was helpful and informative buddy!!! Thank you for knowledge you put out there and the videos you show!!! It motivated me a lot to go out and spend some money to start out of the back of my truck!!!! I’m excited where I’m gong this year and can’t wait to see where I’m at in 5 years!!! I have a pretty much fully loaded truck with large advertisement signs on them and I still can't get any work I'll try knocking door to door to even sell concrete jobs and I can't get that either I can sell more house jobs than anything but I still struggle every single day... I have no idea how to talk to these people when they open the door and look at me like what the fuck do you want... I've even contacted or worked for a couple pressure washing companies and they have either fucked me over and done me really dirty or they treat me like I'm just a bitch and tell me they have work all the time but never do it and I still kiss their ass and I helped them when they're broke down on the side of the road or help them build their trailers for free and they offer me shit to work for and never come through why do I get treated like this
