Major Problems with Gloucester Lock

From January until May of 2019 Gloucester Lock was closed for major engineering work to the cill. This film shows the repairs carried out to the lock and the first two vessels to use it.

Myself and a colleague both fitters working at Jeffries shipyard in avonmouth nearly lost our lives during the avonmouth dock outer gate replacement sometime around 1975-1983. It brought back some uncomfortable memories watching this
