Well done guys - great progress. Best way I found to bleed the clutch is to replace the factory fitted bleed valve with a conventional bleed nipple, then reverse bleed pushing fluid up through the new nipple using a syringe. Then finally bleeding again in the other direction, the normal way. If you place the lid back over the master cylinder you won’t get sprayed every time you release the lever - same when you come to do the front brakes. Have fun, looking forward to the next instalment.

That ramp looks like a real back saver might have to look into getting one of those. Was that an ebay item? Looks like some of the back roads have just disappeared over in Morocco so you might need some alternative routes planned. Some really useful maintenance tips in this video. Thanks looking forward to the next episode.
@SidekickSolo Жыл бұрын
The ramp was from Facebook marketplace but eBay also has lots too. Makes life a lot easier when working on bikes.

Good progress! How come you did not change the FD bearings whilst it was off? Have they recently been done? I had zero movement, no vibration, no leaks and no flakes in the oil yet on the return leg of a recent 6500 mile trip mine packed in!

To be honest I would have liked to but it has come down to time and cost. It may bite me later but I’ll have to take the chance.

No, I will see how it rides. I didn’t balance the last set and it rode fine.

My chum has a motorcycle workshop. He is tortured with BMW GS owners. Once the warranty expires on these bikes all sorts of failures begin from sensors, drveshaft issues and gearbox failures.. Avoid BMW..

With the adventure shocks you will need an adventure side stand also the standard one makes the bike lean over to much especially when loaded

Morocco? Really? I’m sure they will love tourists taking their resources at this time…
@SidekickSolo Жыл бұрын
Morocco is a large place not all of it is affected. Some of those areas that are not affected will still want tourists to spend money.

@@SidekickSolo really enjoying this series, but it's not helping me much. I currently ride a pristine and perfectly equipped Vstrom 650, which I've had from new. My set up is perfect, ally luggage, bagster tank bag, raised bars etc etc, but I've seen a 2007 1200gs with 26k and I'm completely torn. It's got a couple of very little rough bits but generally vgc. I fancy an old boxer, but will I regret losing my Strom? I can't keep both
@SidekickSolo Жыл бұрын
@@badsport2008 that sounds like a very tricky one. Having had a 650 I do prefer having a bigger engine bike for long distances. You have more available power and it feels like you don’t have to ride it so hard to do the distance at pace. It all depends on what you are doing with the bike I suppose. Sometimes tho it is good to have a change and itch that scratch.
