Just some info: Testarossas did not have the prancing horse on the front grille from the factory, and the one on the rear grille should actually be black. Also, Testarossas were not offered with Scuderia shields on the front fenders.

@@bartmolendijk_dutch The Ferrari used on Magnum PI original series (not a movie) was a real Ferrari 308 GTS/GTSi/GTSi QV - i.e. not a replica. In fact there were 3 cars used during the entire run of the series - from series 1 to series 8. The black Ferrari Daytona that was originally featured on Miami vice was a replica based on Corvette C3. Two Testarossas were then gifted (by Ferrari) to the show on the basis that they would destroy the replica Ferrari Daytonas. Notably, Ferrari had filed a lawsuit demanding that McBurnie (builder of the show's replicas) stop producing and selling Ferrari replicas.

DANIEL I assume that you had to use a timber block or similar that fit into the calipers that would stop the pistons coming right out until you had them all moving. Otherwise once one popped out it was game over getting the others out. That’s what we would do when I worked in a brake shop.

The K-Jetronic system can be quite reliable as proven by my 41years old Granada which has had no work on the system. It's low milage and has been reguarly driven though. Some work is needed now though to get it perfect. So if it's gone through carefully and rebuilt it can last for a long time again.

Good thing that Sony cassette deck and CD changer control has a handle on it. You'll need it to pull it out to send to domeone who knkws what they're doing just to clean the mechanism and replace the belts. BTW Ford fans, it it looks familiar, that's because it's basically the same deck they made for Ford back in the 90s.

Ahhh! The lovely K-Jetronic injection system. All the way from a Ferrari super car, Porsche's, Mercedes, Audi's to Golf GTI and to mine more humble 83 Ford Granada 2.8 V6. ( European model) I have a love hat relationship with this system. All the hoses, control valves etc. But it allowed European car manufacturers to still produce engines with some power as emissions made carburators obsolete. For example; a 1973 Granada 2.6 V6 had 125 hp which was pretty good for the time in Europe. Then in 76 ,, emission reduced the V6 to a sad 106 Hp🙁. But then in 78 came the slightly larger 2.8V6 with K-Jetronic producing 151 Hp and European Ford was back in the game😬. My 83 V6 still runs good after all these years, gives good power but could use some tuning or rebuilt to be at 100%.

This a perfect example of a Ferrari that was not used as intended where the previous owner spent more time changing wheels, painting the lower trim an incorrect red, attaching gold emblems where they should not be and adding giant stereo stuff instead of driving it! Ferraris that sit are unhappy Ferraris which end up costing u a small fortune because of deferred maintenance! Hopefully the new owner will correct these items and drive it!

I had a black one on my floor once , immaculate , fsh and just been serviced (on the odometer) , had sat for about 3 years , a customer who was a potential buyer , asked if he could just start in , it was delivered from the factory with a Tubi , so it sounded great , we let the car warm up and then he blipped the throttle , sounded fantastic so he asked if he could blip again , knowing the possibilities that could go wrong , we said yes as it was hot enough , next thing the engine was stuck revving about 9500 and not coming down , I dived in from the passenger side and turned off the ingnition , stopping any further problems , got into the drivers footwell and the throttle was operating perfectly , started the car again , straight up to 9500 , turned it off . Off it went to the agent , came back 3 months later having had an engine out , whole new feul system installed and it was fine , these things are not a joke and love to be driven , if not , it bites .

The ultimate irony of these low mileage cars is they seldom run properly and still need a crazy amount of work due to their age. The only upshots to not driving one of these is reduced wear and tear on the bodywork. It seems like no matter what kind of car you own, you should always drive it regularly.

I remember this has to been 25 years ago when a neighbor who used to work at an exotic repair shop specializing in exotic cars like Ferrari and Lamborghini and Aston Martin. Just for fun I asked him what a major service on a Ferrari testarossa was. Until the recent car Value craziness hit you could get a used testarossa with say 40,000 miles on it for maybe $25,000? And he said 25 years ago a major service was every 15,000 miles. Engine has to come out for a timing belt change. Then you've got 48 valves that have to be adjusted. or do these use shims? Either way a lot of time has to be spent. All this is just from what I know which is not a whole lot about the cars internals. And it was $8500 25 years ago No wonder these cars are driven so little Maybe sometime you could devote a episode explaining why so many manufacturers liked timing belts. I suppose in this case it would make sense unless you had a timing chain for each bank. Otherwise it would be one long chain that had to be lubricated. But ever since then I've understood why so many of these Ferraris are driven so sparingly over the years with ridiculous low mileage Of course 6,000 miles in 36 years for a 1988 is ridiculous in itself and a study on why you have to drive cars they like to be exercised. I am constantly running into the uninformed looking for cars and when they see some ridiculously low mileage car that is very old they think they have a time machine car that will drive off like it just left the showroom An interesting episode as usual Mr. Wizard thank you
