I understand value for Ferrari's is high, but I wouldn't spend more than $20,000 on this car. It's that bad. The interior is extremely poor. For the money I think there are plenty of cars out there that put this one to shame.

when i was a wee lad, my dad came home in one, he was working on for a customer, it's the Magnum car!! I owned a 400 for a while, that was fun fixing up. The fun with these isn't for the driver so much, it's the people that work on them.. it's a bygone era in italian motoring that mechanics and enthusiasts get to enjoy the most. 70's and 80's Fi's are a joy to work on because it's hard not to improve on what's there. Wicked stuff Mr Wiz :) I hope you and Madam have a lovely week x

Wizard, don’t let the trolls discredit all the work that’s been done. Some people don’t understand that these cars require constant maintenance and take up valuable real estate in a shop / garage. If you’ve lost interest in something, no sense continuing to throw money at it or having it take up space. Time has an intrinsic value as well.

Ferrari's of this vintage are beautiful rolling works of art, but were made for 5' 6" Italian soccer players with girly feet, not corn-fed farmboys like Wizard. Good luck to the next owner to get it to the Finish Line! BTW - my friend had a similar vintage Ferrari Mondial coupe. I'm 5' 10" and I barely fit it. The clutch, brake and throttle pedal box setup is tiny and offset to the right - and you need small feet to operate it properly. I felt claustrophobic driving it. I imagine Wizard felt the same way. They are also very 'rustic' - not sure if anyone born in the age of power everything will appreciate it as much as us old folk that grew up on stick shifts, manual steering, and no AC. "Style before comfort" I always say!🤣

Good price for the Ferrari. You can also install the injection system on old motorcycles. The result is more power and less consumption.

I m sure there is probably more to the story, BUT why not put another $5-7k in it, install the AC and fix the switches and chin, and sell it for $85k? Seems like an odd decision point unless you need the money right now. Also thought the 'don't drive it' comment was really off-putting. Driven modestly it should do 1000 miles easily. also, IMHO the HOLLEY window sticker is super tacky unless you install a gun rack.

I could deal with the bodywork and dash problems, but converting it back to a proper carbureted engine would get very expensive. It would certainly help if he has all the original parts that were sadly removed from the engine. The whole reason for owning a car like this is because it is a MACHINE, not a computer on wheels. And speaking of wheels, I do love those 14" Campagnolo wheels that actually have proper tires on them. Definitely doesn't have the ghetto look like "modern" cars? have.

@@geraldscott4302 - I'd keep the old parts, but they'd stay in a box. I'd much rather have this fuel injected, as it is. It will never be a collectible show car, so why would I want all that antiquated crap on it? I wouldn't. I would want to be able to reliably go anywhere without worry, on a moments notice.

@@geraldscott4302 You'd think a V8 wouldn't be that big a deal as long as you had someone who knew how to tune them. I could see a V12 being so exotic you can't easily find a mechanic. Maybe even carbureted V8's are getting rare these days along with mechanics who know how to work on them.
