I remember once at my old Catholic High school, we held our monthly first Friday mass Apparently, one of the students who played the piano ran out of songs to play so he just randomly started playing this and all the while I was just thinking "That song sounds ridiculously familiar..." none of the teachers or priests got mad because how peaceful the song sounded.

The way I hear, it's sad and peaceful, then slowly speeds up and drops again. It's not so much about physical healing as it is about letting go and mental healing. It slowly becomes hopeful in a crescendo, but then a decrescendo takes it down again. It ends on the peaceful but melancholy note of a high E, and seems to symbolize letting go, since hope is fleeting.

Majora's Mask is not the most forgiving Zelda game, but it's one that'll make you feel more sorrow and happiness than you would ever imagine. A tale of a sad little girl with her zombie father, a mayor who worries about his job due to impending doom, everyone hoping that maybe, just maybe... A hero will save them from the ongoing threat of a freaking moon crash. Such an epic tale.

The best part about this song is that it can change depending on what stage of life you’re in. If you’re happy with your life and are living to it’s fullest it can sound depressing and hopeless, but if you are in a position where you feel hopeless or detached from your life it can sound soothing, and can put you back to a moment you felt safe, even if that moment was brief. It all changes depending on perspective and that’s what I love about this piece Edit: I didn't think some post I made 2 years ago when I had just recently got myself out of a toxic friend group would get so popular. I was in a dark place when I wrote this, and I'm so glad that it has brought people together in such a beautiful way. Whoever you are, wherever you are, keep it up, and one day you'll be able to face the light of tomorrow with hope

This idea for those who don't know is that instead of trying to cheer somebody up or encourage them or give them hope you just let them share all their sorrows and let out all their pain. I keep hearing ppl say MM is better than Ocarina, or how deep the game gets. But, IMHO, both games are masterpieces in their own right. I think the reason why people love MM so much is because of how it conveys human emotion so well. It's such a deep, powerful story with intrinsic lore and memorable character. And the game is not your typical "Save the World from Bad guy" motiff. You're faced with death looming over you constantly. You're reminded of what will happen if you fail throughout the whole game, which makes the situation all the more real. I think that the story/lore, the time pressure, characters and the haunting songs like Song of Healing all play a part in telling the tale of Majora's Mask. And that's what I love about this game.

From my perspective, as someone who unfortunately didn't get to play either of the games, based on what I've seen my simple way to separate the two would be like this, Majora's Mask is a better story experience, Ocarina of Time is a better Legend of Zelda experience, out of all of the Legend of Zelda games Majora's Mask stands out the most, and it's for a few reasons but I think the main four is that this game barely focuses on Link at all, there is no Zelda, there is no Ganondorf, and you're completely alone in Majora's Mask, while Tatl is there with you this is a lonely experience, similar to Metal Gear Solid. You don't have Epona, the fairy following you around is actually not that pleasant to be around, although Tatl is less annoying than Navi it feels like there's no chemistry or friendship at all between Link and Tatl, you're pretty much roaming around together out of necessity, if she could choose she wouldn't even be helping you at all, it's literally just Link, all the townspeople give up and get depressed quickly, the side quests are all weird or sad, you'll struggle to find happy moments through the majority of Majora's Mask. If I played it when I was younger I think it would have given me a weaker version of the anxiety that Kingdom Hearts gave me, I've written enough so I won't say any more, if you want to know why I think Kingdom Hearts is darker you can just ask me, I do have replies turned off so it might take a while to see it, but I'll get there eventually.

I just lost something huge in my life, and I don't know if I'll ever get it back. This song always makes me feel better. I don't know what it is, but it just seems to bring me to a peaceful place. It reminds me of how no matter what, things will get better, you will heal. So for anybody else who's come here for a similar reason, for anybody who needs to hear this, you are loved. Things will get better. No matter how long it takes, no matter how many times you get hurt, there's always a tomorrow. Healing doesn't just happen overnight though, it takes time. And healing itself hurts. But it'll be worth it in the end, because you'll find everything you've ever needed. So remember, you are loved, and we're rooting for you.

Like the first time I played through Windwaker and got down to underwater castle and the king shows up and it hits you with the Hyrule castle theme all at once... I was less emotional and sentimental in my youth than I am now (I guess I have more to be sentimental about now??) but I still cried 😂 and got goosebumps like mad!

@starcafe10773 жыл бұрын
This song is so therapeutic and somber for me. When I'm sad I listen to this to help me know there is good in my life. And when I need to be sad, this song brings me to tears, it reminds me of all I've lost. It reminds me how to heal. About a month ago today, I ended an abusive friendship, one of the hardest things I've had to do. I knew this person my whole life, but they didn't love me, even if I loved them. So when I listen to this song and think about that time, it helps me to remind myself it takes time to heal. Healing from trauma, loss, depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, abusive, and life. Not all scars go away, some stay forever. I know I'm not the only one. I hope one day when I look upon my scars that I do not look on them with only somberness but reminds me of how I've grown, and what I got myself out of.

The Holy Father. I first played it on the 64 but I gotta admit the 3DS one is far superior

I honestly have no idea how people find this calm and soothing. It just sound so depressing and sad to me.

For people who are having hardships in their life, this song pretty much sums up their pain and depression. If you don't find it soothing, then you've had a good life. Technically this song is an example of good things for everyone.

Majora’s Mask is and always will be the best Zelda game. Calculated risks pay off.

This song eases my mind for just a short while, allowing me to breathe. It helps me accept the situation I'm in, all I can do is do all I can. One day, I hope to look back and still believe that I've done everything I could with no regrets.

This game is one of the best games ever made ! When I play this game or hear this song I think of this quote. '' You've met with a terrible fate haven't you?''' said by the Happy Mask Salesman. :)

i like how the rhythm is constantly changing speed, that really ties the whole song together for me makes it feel like someone is actually playing the song instead of it being just some midi

this song is so contradictory,,,, it’s so peaceful and makes me feel so physically relaxed, yet i get this invasive sense of dread and anxiety whenever i listen to it. idk maybe it’s just nostalgia

I have a friend I met the other day, her name is Katie, as of writing this she has less than two years left to live. I promise that I will be there for her no matter what through the last of her days. Maybe, just maybe, we can heal each other.

My sweet little bunny has died today, this song helps soothe my broken soul, we buried her in the garden today and this is the song we are going to play at her funeral.

This has been the toughest week of my life, I never gave myself a chance to feel everything I should have felt until today, everything hit me very hard, felt a great weight crushing me and also saw something that made me feel like broken, for some reason I thought about this song so I came to this video, through the song tears started to pour by themselves and the weight that I was feeling progressively felt lighter, I felt so at peace and easy, the most I've felt in a while, it might be a song from a game but if it reaches you in the right moment it can really heal your soul. Just wanted this little thing I lived today with the Song of Healing

The song has the perfect blend of mystery and sadness, It highlights the important moments where someone is in trouble and you can help. It always makes me remember when I didn’t have anything to worry about, but that time has gone..
