I love this Majorcraft Crostage rod i use it all the time when lure fishing for wrasse and bass. It would also make a good Pollack rod. It's a great looking mid priced but high performing rod. If you fish for Big Bold Biting Hard Fighting Ballan Wrasse this could be the rod for you. Wrasse being my main target this rod can also turn its hand to bouncing soft plastics in estuaries or throwing Savage Gear seekers for Bass and Pollack. It has a beautiful back bone with a sensitive tip allowing to achieve good hook sets.

I have just treated myself with the exact rod and the bite detection is incredible compared to my other rods. I can feel even the lightest jighead bouncing along the bottom. Flicking out metal lures is also effortless.

Nice review. I bought the Crostage CRS 904 10 years ago as a back up for travelling. It’s never been used as I use a Snowbee Raptor 4 piece Travel Rod. Maybe I will try it next year!

I can honestly say that I’ve never owned a rod AND reel set-up that cost £180 ,let alone just the rod. As for not having a lure-clip for that price,I’m shocked. I guess I must be a tight-ass 😂

Just purchased this rod although bought the 7 ft 9 inch from Japan. Payed 105 USD with Fedex shipping included. No VAT or tax for US address. Hoping this will work well this summer while in France for surf fishing with a 300 Daiwa Procyon 300o Aluminum reel with 10 lb braid. Mostly paddletails and lures . Never used this brand, but the price seemed great. Will let you know in July.

Im still hoping to see you catch a seabass on bfs gear! I can see that the wrasse will be tricky due to snags and lack of power, but the seabass sounds to me like a dream bfs specie to target! Tight lines!

Did you think about the crostage hard rock crx‑792 m/s version I'm undecided on which version to buy.

Heard great things about it. I fish at range a lot so went for the 802 but the 792 will cope with anything also.

Is that rod with solid tip? Works it better with minnows, top waters or with soft baits?

As far as I am aware it has a solid tip it works well with Texas Rigs and swimming lures such as soft lures. I have used it with surface lures but it is quite a stiff tip so a softer tipped rod would be better. It does perform surprisingly well though and is quite a good all rounder

@maximcaujape4754 I would say the Stradic as it is heavier. Most reels are very light and do not help with the balance point

@@Sweetaccord i got CRX 862L 2 weeks ago,i have daiwa fuego 3000 on it,balance is quite off. Rod is 125g and reel is 205g and the tip is going down.Reel seat is so so,my old okuma ceymar has a more ergonomic reel seat. Im thinking of removing it and fit a better one. Action is really good,i mostly use pachinko 100 an it plays beatifully. You should check out triple cross model.

Think a 4000 balances better. You can add weight to the butt with a butt cap.

Haven’t had any experience with it but if it is as well made and balanced as mine then yes, just make sure to get the 1002 CRX Surf model rated for 10-45grams
