Mariah vocally for me is number one, and yes she's a top-tier total musician. She is studied and involved in all aspects of her music, writing, producing, vocals ( lead and background.) You are right about the industry too. One really great singer that I think you would like who I think wasn't as big as she should've been (for me because of production) was Tamia. When everything did line up for her the songs were hits (and there were several), but there could've been more.

Mariah has a good ear. She is the Queen of "vocal stacking". She knows how to blend in with her own voice along with a choir. She is a great songwriter and producer. Please react to Joy to the World live at St. John the Divine Cathedral. You won't regret it.

Oddly, I prefer other live performances of this song..especially when she realeased it (Musicbox era/93'), her tone was not too light & not too dark. But this was great. Mariah is the greatest vocalist imo. Not only because she mastered every part of her 5 octave range but she was able to do that with a damaged instrument (vocal nodules) from the jump. Many people don't know that and they talk sh*t knowing nothing about her. Then comes in her other musical talents. Writing, arranging vocals, coming up with melodies, perfect pitch, improvisation skills, visualizing song concepts etc. All she's missing?--to master an instrument lol. Her discography?? UNPARALLELED. You should react to her catalog in chronological order. Sit and listen to each album and give your opinion after every song. You would have to cut and edit the video in a way that avoids copywrite though 😩 Then there are the million and one remixes to check out. Another area where MC is unmatched. No-one makes a remix like MC. P.s. Give us some of my 2nd fav...Toni Braxton 😍
