We need more rpgs reviews. I noticed after listening to your calming voice that other essays with people who talk like they're in an air plane hanger gets on my nerves now lol.

I tried to play Weird West but dropped it when the game told me to go grind bounties that came off as randomly generated so I could have enough money to decipher a letter so I could continue the so far boring and generic scenario. I recommended it to my friend who I thought might like it more but he was only able to last about 30 minutes longer then I did. It looks like they just put their worst foot forward when it came to the order in which you play the characters, I'm sure I'd have been way more interested in continuing the game if I had played as any of the other characters especially the pigman.

Yeah I can see where you're coming from. I would almost recommend staying away from bounties/side quests unless you need the cash, it becomes really easy to burn out on the gameplay. Stronger emphasis on variety/side content would have really improved the experience.

I really like the subdued humor of your videos. Like you don't pick up on it if you don't pay attention. Thus rewarching can yield more. I'd like to do long-form vid on obscure games too. But your timing and clip utilization is great. *we've managed to avoid drowning*

I appreciate that! My writing ethos is to make it engaging, while for editing I try to make it densely packed enough to be rewatchable, so I'm really pleased to hear that's the case.

Hey if you wanna try another game like this I recommend Seven: Day Long Gone. It's comically similar to Weird West but imo much better executed. It's a little more Dishonored than WW is and it's got that verticality and map design you were looking for. All open world and afaik hand crafted from shore to shore.

I am not in the slightest bit surprised to find you’re a fan of Dark Messiah. Sadly, we individuals of taste, class, and truly superlative refinement are few and far between. Thanks for the tip about the rifle trivialising the game’s difficulty a smidge; after all, my channel’s current USP is that I’m bad at games and that is, ideally, funny to certain subset of viewers. As always, a great review, and we’ll deserving of many, many times the current view count it has. Keep ‘em coming and I’ll keep scarfing ‘em down! Edit: I sincerely hope you’re planning a review of VTMB at some point. Not that I need anyone to tell me it’s one of the best RPGs ever made (emphasis on the RP, not so much on the G), but you clearly share my appreciation for classic Source titles, and I’d love to hear your take on it!

Hey, good to see you November Bravo! In regards to Dark Messiah.. well, I'd expect nothing less from a gent of your stature. Let us sip chardonnay in our ivory tower, away from the plebeians. I must admit, I've no current plans for a VTM:B review at present. I played through the game recently on stream though, still love it to pieces despite the last act making me want to rip my hair out.

I hope I got the acronym right or this won't make sense, but I wish someone would review that game by doing a review per faction, as a series, bc it seems like a different game with each faction, more so than most other rpgs i can think of.
@novemberbravo6194 Жыл бұрын
@@picahudsoniaunflocked5426Yeah, I know what you mean; they did a fantastic job of setting the different clans up so that there's a ton of replay value, even though some of them share certain disciplines. Hell, playing as a Malkavian is like an entirely different game from all the other clans!

The Earth is indeed flat, I mean it may very well be a circle, but still a flat circle. Otherwise fighter jet radar wouldn’t work, naval vessels wouldn’t be able to laser pin point another vessel 100 miles away, even a simple periscope wouldn’t work because the physical horizon from even 3ft would be around 2.5 miles or so, but a periscope can see about 11 miles +. A little bit of trigonometry shows this impossible. Planes navigate assuming a stationary plane, because the earth doesn’t spin for artillery or planes or anything else. Pilots use the level horizon to navigate and if an object at any distance is above or below the horizon, it is above or below the pilot. That’s impossible on a globe. No one has ever recorded circumnavigating Antarctica in modern times, nor has anyone ever crossed Antarctica and come out on the other side. The only recorded journey around Antarctica was Captain Cook and it was about 60k miles because Antarctica surround the continents (the arctic being the center) named appropriately since from the arctic the sun arcs around you and from the Antarctic the sun anti-arcs away from you. If outer space was a vacuum it would rip the atmosphere off the Earth. I could explain thoroughly why relativity is so entirely impractical, but suffice it to say it is a distraction from the real elemental forces of nature (electricity and magnetism) that’s why no one has really advanced Teslas patents in 100 years. Well, that’s the best I can do for now, good luck people, it’s a wild world.

You know, I'm with you - I can't call this an immersive sim. Perspective matters - I don't see my life from a topdown view, so it does take me out of it, if only minutely. I get that their heart is in the right place, and that's not a judgment on the game itself, it's just *not* an immersive sim.

I don't see random cinematic angles while I talk to people, nor does a list of possible responses appear in front of me. I guess days ex isn't an immersive Sim either.

I have very mixed feelings on Weird West. I played the Bounty Hunter campaign, and it was great fun, and I was happy. And then the game kept going. And going. And going... And it had nothing new to show that wasn't already in the Bounty Hunter campaign. I would genuinely like Weird West much better if it was just 1/5th of its size and ended when you save your husband.

Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who doesn't like unlockable abilities in games that aren't typical RPGs. It's the reason I can't get into System Shock 2 even though I love the first game; it's why I didn't really enjoy the two recent Doom games even though the old ones are some of my absolute all-time favorites. It's just annoying to me to know that I can't do all the cool stuff yet because I haven't collected enough doohickeys, and that the game might become too hard or too easy if I pick the wrong abilities (not to mention starting a new game always just sucks). The worst part is that it just breaks all the immersion for me: if I'm not playing a highly abstract class building game with experience points, then why am I collecting upgrade tokens to make my skin 5% thicker? It's like, just give me the fun abilities from the start and remove all the useless incremental bonuses that only serve to give me dopamine while making the developer's job of balancing the difficulty ten times harder.
