Amazing how similar these are to the ancient Hopi dwellings.

First read about the Dogon from the epic fantasy audiobook, "Timbuktu Chronicles: Aida and the Chosen Soldier." I highly recommend this book, especially the audiobook version, for anyone interested in Timbuktu/Mali Empire/West Africa medieval history.

In American Indian culture we restrict females who are on their menstrual cycle and or pregnant from entering our burial ceremonies, as our songs are sung we call on our ancestors and its always been thought that the risk of a spirit entering a body is much more likely during a womans sensitive times.

Sehr interessantes Thema, allerdings hier für meinen Geschmack zu touristisch. Möchtegern-Ethnologin auf Urlaub in Afrika?

It is set up for tourism but to be honest we were the only ones there except for one other group of 2.
