In this video, we will be exploring Manila's richest area, Makati. We have stayed here a few times but never explored properly. The greenbelt mall was absolutely amazing and of course we found some absolutely delicious Filipino food too!

So sorry to hear you are leaving the Philippines. I have really enjoyed watching your videos. I am also British and lived here in the Philippines for 2 years now. I do hope you might consider coming again and maybe settling in this country for longer. If you search around outside of Makati and BGC you can rent a condo for about 15k a month and build your vlogging business more this way. I work here as an online English teacher. You might want to investigate the Filipino martial arts - kali or arnis (stick fighting). It's like karate with a stick, the stick being a substitute for bladed weapon.

The side streets in Salcedo Village and Legazpi Village are nice. There's a lot of parks and local restaurants. It also feels quieter and less like a business district

Makati is a city for OLD MONEY. business capital of the country, stock exchange, etc. Makati also has the most exclusive and ultra rich close gated residential properties - Belair and Forbes Park - ranging from $10Million up. BGC is new rich, business district, modern residential towers, larger spaces, but does not have the residental gated land properties. It is more on residential high rises/townhomes.

Makati is not fancy, it's a hybrid of the wealthy and the poor. It's a city of contrast. You will have a gathering of social elites drinking in one place, and right beside it are people begging in the streets. Makati is grimy but it's a place of many hidden jewels which you will only find by word of mouth and not through mainstream advertising.

Makati is NOT a district. Makati is not just an "area". Makati is CITY on its own that's separate and distinct from Manila. Pls learn the difference between Metro Manila vs just "Manila" to avoid sounding stupid.
