My name is Fedor. And today you will learn how to make zero mistakes in structures like: Такой же =The same type[Takoy zhe] Тот же = The same exact[Tot zhe] Там же=In the same place[Tam zhe] They all mean : “The same”, but they all have different detail to them. Is it the same type? Is it the same location? Is it the same quantity? How do we properly say it in Russian? Let’s look at this structure: ★ Такой же =The same type[Takoy zhe] “Же” [zhe] in this structure will have the meaning of “same”, while Такой [Takoy] has the meaning of “type”. Whenever you say: I have the same type of phone/shirt/shoes/whatever, This structure will be used to say: “he same type.” This was just an example. We will get into each structure individually . But let’s mention first a full list of these similar common structures, that we have in Russian language: Такой же =The same type[Takoy zhe] Тот же = The/That same exact thing[Tot zhe] Этот же =This same thing[Etat zhe ] Столько же =The same amount[Stol'ka zhe ] Там же=In the same exact location/place[Tam zhe] Так же =Same exact way[Tak zhe] Также*= Also[Takzhe] Туда же =Same way/direction[Tuda zhe ] Тогда же=At the same time[Tagda zhe] 1. Такой же =The same type[Takoy zhe] Let’s start with this structure, since we already mentioned it before. I can say: -I have the same {type of a} phone. У меня такой же телефон. U menya takoy zhe telefon. Therefore “Такой же” is used when comparing two things that have the same characteristics/features. Like with the phones: they are the same make, model, same year of manufacturing. Такой же {masculine form}[ Takoy zhe] Такaя же[feminine form][Takaya zhe] Такоe же [Neuter form][ Takoye zhe] Такие же[Plural form][Takiye zhe] 2. Тот же = The/that same exact thing[Tot zhe] ↓ Тот=that Means the same exact thing or object. If we talk about phones, it is going to be the same exact phone, not identical copy, but the same exact one. For example: -I have the same exact phone. У меня тот же телефон. U menya tot zhe telefon. Let’s say, you say to a friend that you did not see for two years: “I have the same exact phone as I had then.” Тот же[masc.form][ Tot zhe] Тa же[fem.form][Ta zhe] То же[Neuter form][To zhe] Тe же[plural form][Tye zhe]

3. Этот же =This same thing[Etat zhe ] ↓ Will be the same exact meaning as the previous one [Тот же=that same exact thing] but “Этот”= this one[an object you see in front of you and can point your finger to it], while “Тот”= that one[which is not near you, or not in front of you]. For example: -I saw this same photo camera on line{on the Internet}. Я видел этот же фотоаппарат в Интернете. YA videl etat zhe fatapparat v Internete. Этот же[masc][Etat zhe] Этa же[fem][Eta zhe] Это же[Neuter][Eta zhe] Эти же[Plural][Eti zhe] 4. Столько же =The same amount/quantity[Stol'ka zhe ] ↓ For example: You and your friend did a job for someone and the person, who hired you paid your friend a 100 dollars. Then he turns to you and asks: “How much do you want?” And you can say: -I want the same amount. Я хочу столько же. YA khachu stol'ka zhe. 5. Там же=In the same exact location/place[Tam zhe] Там= there. For example: You and your friend went to the store to buy beer and chips. You went to get beer and he went to get the chips. 10 minutes passed and he is calling you from the checkout asking: “Where are you?”. You can respond by saying: -I am in the same exact place/position as I was before. Я там же, где и был . YA tam zhe, gde i byl . Another example: -We met in the same exact location as usual. Мы встретились там же, где обычно. My vstretilis' tam zhe, gde abychna. A variation of Там же can be logically: Тут же[Tut zhe] Тут= here. However, Тут же[Tut zhe] doesn’t mean “the same place here “. It means “immediately”. It is some kind of slang colloquia expression. For example: -I remembered everything immediately. Я тут же всё вспомнил. YA tut zhe vso vspomnil. 6. Так же =Same exact way as [Tak zhe] ↓ A very unique one and also used a lot in spoken Russian. It refers to actions, when we do things in the same exact way as someone else. For example: -You are acting the same exact way as your father. Ты ведёшь себя так же, как твой отец. Ty vedosh' sebya tak zhe, kak tvoy otets. However, don’t confuse Так же =Same exact way as [Tak zhe] With Также [Takzhe] = Also. When you do one thing and then you do something else. They both sound the same, but have different meanings. 7. Туда же =Same way/direction[Tuda zhe ] ↓ Refers to direction, when we are going in the same exact direction to some place or location. It signifies location or destination we are going to, not an actual location where something is but movement towards a place. For example, let’s say you love travelling, especially to Russia. You have already been to Moscow 3 times and you are going for the fourth time. Your friend is asking you: “ Where are you going?[which city in Russia]” You can say: -I am flying to the same exact place. Я лечу туда же. YA lechu tuda zhe.

I just started learning Russian on Duolingo yesterday but I feel like I’m not learning much maybe I’m just being impatient but what is the best way to start? I can understand words based on the sounds but when I get to the spelling challenges I have no clue how to spell any of the words
@TerryHesticles003 жыл бұрын
Other thing I really struggle with is pronunciation and rolling the R’s in certain words should I worry about that or will it come with time?
@mrwetcloth45713 жыл бұрын
Here’s my advice bro, first off try learn e first hundred most common word so simple stuff like , и, Хорошо, Прошёл,как,сам,есть, Что. If you search up 100 most common words in Russia it is really important to know them, Focus on vocabulary, don’t worry to much on pronunciation yet. Force yourself to speak with natives, I do this from my friends , on Xbox and even online like there is an app called tandem where I speak to Russians on there. But the main thing is consistently every day

What's the difference between "в то же время" and "Одновременно" ? Both are translated as "at the Same time"
@SpankyHam3 жыл бұрын
The expression "в то же время" is often used in everyday speech. This is a phraseological unit, that is, a stable statement that expresses the simultaneity of events that occur. This phrase has a connecting function, that is, it connects two simple sentences into one complex sentence. одновременно - adverb

Одновременно is closer to phisical actions- to run,to eat, to watch and so on when в тоже время is closer to something unphisical- to dream, to love, to suppose and so on. Although the difference is smal so the both variants can be used.
