I was just discussing this with my husband. I started way more than I thought would germinate... it all germinated! I only have so much room but they are healthy and most are heirlooms. I have extra artichokes, peppers ( 8 kinds) , tomatoes ( 16 kinds), tomatillos ( 4 kinds ) tons of herbs and flowers and waaaay more.

I like all your videos Gary! I also like the cups (cheap from dollar tree) and the best way i found to make holes on the bottoms is to use a soldering Iron, it's super fast and works great. I like the .99 cent sales but I sell my small 4" potted star fruit at 3/10.00 or 4.00 ea. I can wait a year for them to get to 4' and sell for 30.00 but i tell people to just sit on them and once they hit the ground they grow like crazy. Small size sales are better in the long run because they don't take up as much space as large plants and no one minds spending a buck or two compared to 20-30.00 for a larger size. But there are people that will spend a fortune on something special which is where my Bougainvilleas come into play with some people spending as much as 400.00 on a nice 8' tree size which takes me just 3 years to grow so sometime size does matter when your supplying specialty plants to rich customers.

Thank you for your help. I started a bunch of plants the day this video was posted a couple ways. I lost all the ones hardened off. This method has the best results for beginners skills. I gardened with my grandparents and my mom, but my first garden nonetheless!

I have about 100 tomato seedlings at different growth stages and I'm planning to sell pints of cherry tomatoes to offset my gardening expenses and to make extra money. Hardening them off is still challenging for me; I always lose around a dozen every year, so I plant all the seeds in three packets (chocolate, red and yellow cherry).

Thank you for all your advice I sold 100 tomatoes and peppers and basil in 2 days. I didnt really think anyone would come out with the virus so I sold them for 1$ they were nice plants I had a few ppl say they looked better then lowes and home depot they were bigger and they said man you could of charged 3 $to 5$ each and they all asked if I would be doing it every yr which I said I'm not sure but if I did they would be 2$ not 1$. We were planning to have a big yard sale the first weekend in June so I started extra plants in order to sell what we didn't plant in our own garden then. Unfortunately, I do not expect that yard sales of any kind are going to be allowed in 2020. I will probably end up giving away the surplus. I've heard of people setting up tables by the road with extra protective gear, baked goods, plants &c to share with passersby.

If you live near a rural area look at craigslist. People around me here in Tennessee will have composted manure from their farm for sale pretty cheaply.

Have you tried to grow Marijuana on your homestead? Just curious if gardeners out there are starting to get into that type of growing as the legal limits are allowing. It seems not too many people do both and I think someone who may understand all there is to know about vegetable growing, could add some good insight to people interest in growing cannabis. I am concerned about you encouraging people to do something that can harm them more than help them. By far the majority of states have stay at home orders and top health experts want all states to have this. I’m not sure a yard sale can be done without people gathering in an unhealthy way.

Martini Chip one can do online sales. List what you have and appropriate prices. Person calls in the order. You pull the required plants and put them in a container. Brown paper bags work great. Payment can be made via cashless apps like PayPal or do exact change placed in a drop box. Place customers order in a predetermined location along with cash drop box. Customer drops money picks up plants! You then go out and collect! Sanitize the piss out of the drop box. And reset for next customer. If your comfortable you can do in person transactions. Set up appointments with buyers, have plants set up and ready to be selected. Drop box again for cash sells. Have no more than 1 customer and their family on property at one time. You can still maintain your distance while selling your plants, answering any last minute questions. Payment is exact change placed in drop container. Or you can do a on your honor system! Where you put out what you want to sell, a drop box for cash. Person stops but picks out plants and pays via the drop box. A local farm used to sell hay this way! You would put your name and phone # on a envelope along with the quantity. You put the money in the envelope and drop it through the mail slot in the door. They had camera systems in place to film you paying then loading the hay you payed for. If you short changed them or loaded more than what you payed for you would get a call and if not rectified a visit from the marshals office! Small town with very little real crime. It’s a risk but one that worked well for the farm. Could be easily done if you can accept the risk of dishonesty.

Well you inspired me to pull my finger out and I've made £5 of 3 plants before I've even started selling just talking about the idea with a neighbour who frequently comments on the abundance and variety I have in just the front garden , and took orders for tomatoes and peas , I'm easily dissuaded but this is something I've done as a hobby since a sport injury killed my other hobby , Instagram ainsworth.Joshua

I don’t think it is a good idea to encourage people to have a plant yard sale right now, especially when you say they can expect 50 to 60 people over a weekend. Maybe you should at least give some examples of how they can do this safely and still practice social distancing.

That's great! Sell them the plants, then go to their houses and kill them and take the plants back. Their deaths would automatically be classified as Covid despite the stab and gunshot wounds. Perfect!
