Barry, I used to make a simular pudding when I worked in a cafe in central London years ago.We would get a daily delivery of fresh breads,danish pastries etc. At close of business,sometimes we would have leftovers. Very good quality breads,but would be too dry to sell the next day. So I would have a large mixing bowl with broken up pastries and milk and some icecream (sometimes !) mixed together. Soak overnight in the cooler,add nutmeg,sugar,cinnamon dried fruit etc in the morning to the mix and make into a bread pudding style dessert slice. Cut down on waste and offers a cheap sweet treat to our customers,usually sold all by mid lunchtime. Still make this sometimes with discounted pastries from the local supermarket.

Solid advice as always Barry, freezer stuff is underrated and better value a lot of the time. I would say for the curry - don't use less sauce, just use like 1/3 of the water. The fish will still cook through fine and you can add more water when you add the rice if necessary.
@azyfloof2 жыл бұрын
Lil tip, whenever you use a jar of sauce and need to add water, put the water in the jar and shake it about with the lid on to get out every last scrap of sauce from the inside walls of the jar :D

Mr. Barry, what do you think about doing a "No Fridge Recipes" for those who only have a kettle, and/or maybe a microwave (I'd suggest one for kettle, and one for microwave)? TONS of students, travelling professionals, van lifers, backpackers, and to be honest, homeless people all have a need for good, hearty food they can cook for themselves using shelf stable ingredients. No refrigeration, just dry ingredients, and fresh products (fresh veg/fruits, etc...) that can be turned into healthy, hearty meals when you DO have access to mains power, but don't have the bigger appliances available.

Hi Barry, I've sat and bing watched all your hack vlogs, tik tok vlogs and now I'm over half way through watching your 4321 vlogs and bloody loving them. As I have a very busy life cooking was put on the back burning but with your 3 ingredients vlogs I've been writing down all the ones I love but then I thought (just an idea) would you consider bringing out a cook book with the ingredients, times and measurements? It would be so helpful and much easier than having to go back through the vlogs to find out what I need. I really hope you keep doing the 4321 vlogs. X

i just realized that one of the things i cook most is a 3 ingredient dish. I cook ground chicken or beef in sweet chili sauce and let it cook until you have a thick mixture of ground meat and caramelized sauce and then serve it over jasmine rice.

Hi Barry. This menu looks awesome. Just 2 ideas. I have had "bread and butter" pudding made with hot cross buns. It was a demonstration at our local Woolworths and it was good. Then the rice mix you used for the curry I have used in the past by stir frying it and adding mixed steamed seafood to make a "sort of" paella. My husband loved that.

Not sure if the good/bad thing is serious, but just in case i kinda didn't like the good/bad thing, it takes from your euthentic reactions, experience, and personality! Also, i have never been confused by your reaction and views on something, your opinion is always clear, just saying good or bad is sorta like dumbing things down drastically? Anyway, i keep meaning to save recipes i find on YT videos as i am getting bored of food lately, and you have made videos on so many great recipe over the years! The pork loin skewers and bread pudding looked especially good to me! Such simple things i never thought of too, andlike you said you could change the skewers so much with different glazes and such!

Please try malva pudding from South Africa Recipe ingredients For the sponge: 1 cup flour, 125g 1 Tbs bicarbonate of soda 1 cup sugar 250g 1 egg 1 Tbs apricot jam 1 Tbs vinegar 1 Tbs melted butter 1 cup milk 250ml For the sauce: ½ cup cream 125ml ½ cup milk 125ml 1 cup sugar 250g ½ cup hot water 125ml ½ cup butter 125g Baking method Set oven at 180°C. Grease, with butter, an ovenproof glass or porcelain container approximately 30cm X 20cm X 5cm. Do not use an aluminium, enamel or any metal container. Cut a piece of aluminium foil to cover it while the pudding is in the oven and grease it well with butter on one side. Sift the flour and the bicarb into a bowl and stir in the sugar. In another bowl beat the egg very well and add the remaining ingredients [excluding those for the sauce] one by one, beating well between each addition. Using a wooden spoon beat the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix well. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish, cover with the foil, greased side down and bake for 45 minutes in the present oven until well risen and brown and for a further five minutes without the foil if not sufficiently brown. If not sufficiently baked the dessert will not take up all the sauce making it stodgy inside. When the pudding is almost done, heat the ingredients for the sauce, ensuring that you melt all the sugar and butter. When the pudding is done, remove from the oven, take off the foil and pour over the sauce. The pudding will take up all the sauce. Serve hot, warm or at room temperature, though warm is best, with a little thin cream or vanilla custard.

I thought you'd be interested to know that like many Americans and apparently some British you have gotten the one that says kabob wrong that's not a kabob that is a shishlich and there is a difference a kabob contains a ground meat usually it can be lamb but not always sometimes it's feel and it's like a rounded hamburger on a stick whereas what you call kebab which is shishlik contains a piece of meat or sometimes vegetables depends can be both and in between our other vegetables onion pepper tomatoes sometimes even potatoes and in between each of those little sticks you know the on the stick is the piece of meat sometimes it can be not meat but majority of the time it's a type of meat usually you can be chicken sometimes it is lamb or beef I just thought you would like to have that properly sorted since it's an obvious mistake.
