Hi Ford, Thanks for a great tutorial :) Fabric count was a great help. I'm just starting out, trying to make a Biscornu so I thought I'd first start by making a prototype. I back stitched 60 x 60 then cut 1/2 inch seam allowance. Well, that fabric count was way off ! It's obvious, looks more rectangular that square. Now I know :)

I made one with a Russian design motif and stuffed it with whole cloves to hang in my clothes closet as a sachet. Over the years the oil from the cloves has discolored the aida cloth and given it an antique look that I rather love...a happy accident!

Is there a way to fabric if one direction has 14 stitches per inch and the other direction is 13 stitches?
@SonovaStitch Жыл бұрын
You can get it wet and stretch it, like blocking knitting. It's really hard to do after you've stitched though.

Ok so he still didn't explain what a biscornu was, is it a pillow for your pet hamster?
@janetrothwell4448 Жыл бұрын
In the video description, it says pin cushion. I didn’t know what it was either until I googled the word, when the video was in the “upcoming” videos.

Could be, if you have a very spoiled hamster! The one I show in the video I use as a pin cushion. The one I'll assemble next week I made as a Christmas ornament!

Biscornu is the name for that object (a small cushion made from two squares at right angles to each other). You can use it as decoration or as a pin cushion or whatever. Some people stack a few of them to make a decorative tower. They look cool all stacked up.
