All of your disappearing hourglass tutorials are great! I wonder how many more patterns can be created from the same block? I'm going to have to play with the next one I make to see what interesting things happen. I use your disappearing blocks a lot. I make mine from yardage and use 2 contrasting 14" squares. That makes a nice big block, I use double or triple batting and make little cat sleeping mats from them. My friends love them for their kitties. They're good to toss on the sofa or bottom of the bed. Cats sleep on them and it keeps cat hair localized to the mat. Happy sewing everyone!

I was watching disappearing hourglass 3 tutorial and my 4 yr old grandson passed by and renamed your quilt as he looked at it, “ the orbit and the alien” that’s what he said I was amazed when I looked at the quilt again I could see how he came up with that. The black block is the orbit and we can see the alien. And he’s 4 yrs old. So if you have any trouble naming a quilt think of little Bodhi Cooke I’m sure he will have a whole different take on it....😆😁😄😘luv ya Jenny❤️

Another winner! I love square quilts but I think I will use yardage so it can be larger than 78” square...I sleep with a blanket hog, lol. Thanks for not adding the extra 6 squares it is possible to make. I hate when the design is uneven!
@mek63157 жыл бұрын
I have 2 questions. If you are making a black and white quilt what color thread do you use to sew the pieces together, and if using yardage how much of each color would you need? Thanks for all the great tutorials. Thanks
@MissouriQuiltCo7 жыл бұрын
Hi me k! You really shouldn't be able to see the tread that you used to piece the top with once the quilt is complete, so any color would be fine. You could do black or white. You can find the list of supplies and amounts here: www.missouriquiltco.com/land/tutorials/disappearing-hourglass-3-quilt/index.html

How do you like the cordless iron? Does it get nice and hot? Also how is the steam? Thanks, Julia
@MissouriQuiltCo7 жыл бұрын
Hi Julia! Jenny is using a Panasonic Freestyle Iron. It does get nice and hot, however, it only heats when it is on the base, so if you do a lot of ironing at once, you will have to return it to the base frequently. Here is a link to the iron if you would like to learn more: www.missouriquiltco.com/shop/detail/35414/panasonic/-/360-freestyle-cordless-iron-silver

I am not entirely sure, but a great way to see all you possible options of what the block can make is to lay it out in different ways and take pictures. That way you can decide your favorite! A medallion quit is a great idea for a new tutorial.
