Oh my god every time I’ve flown somewhere. I’ve always thought looking out the window looked like flying over a huge patchwork quilt. Love this.

Wow, I saw this video today ( I’m fairly new to quilting) and knew I HAD To make this quilt. Three years ago, my best friend and I traveled to Ireland, it was a wonderful time, and this quilt looks so very much like my first view of Ireland from the air. In fact I may make 2 of these, one for my dear friend and one for me, it will be a perfect friendship quilt. Thank you so much for this video.

when I used to travel, and it was way before I began to quilt I used to look out the window and think to myself how amazing all the patches and just everything how it was outlined...and all the beautiful colors... I never knew...Thank you Rob...

Easy to follow as usual. Doesn't hurt that you are easy on the eye as well.

Great job, today, Rob! I might make my roads a bit wider to accommodate all of the HotWheels cars and trucks going up and down those country roads! Blue for irrigation ditches and maybe a few appliqué ponds etc. WOW! What a great starting point for inspiration! Thank you! And Happy New Year! 🎉 ❤🌅🌵

This is so very much like the patchwork of fields from a plane, you have done a great job and makes me want one, but maybe small wall hanging. Some of the comments mention adding a river or two and ponds. I'd probably add 1 field where there is a circle from the irrigation sprayers, I loved seeing them from the air. Thanks for always doing a great job of teaching and finding new designs.

This one’s going on the list! The area of California where I live looks just like this coming into the airport, though with a river, too. Thanks!

I was just watching Genius-Picasso tonight. He was a cubist artist for awhile. He hated to fly but one time they got him up in a plane. They told him to look outside and he was amazed because it looked like a cubist painting.

Love this quilt. I can also imagine it in other colorways for an abstract sort of quilt. Question...what happens to all the fabric you cut up in the demonstration and then shove it aside? I can’t imagine trying to straighten all those strip & block sets out to make another quilt, but I would have to try. Just curios. 😊😊😊
