I would like to point out a couple things, spraying WD-40 on your windshield will melt ice, but the oil needs to be removed, alcohol works great however instead of using WD-40 just using alcohol works better for removing ice. The WD-40 also degrades leather badly, a baseball glove will wear out in under half the time. Thanks

Civil engineer here. DO NOT spray WD40 in your toilet and flush it! You will cause problems with the septic or municipal sewer system operation and put public works employees at risk. Dumbest suggestion I have ever seen!!! Several of these are poor at best.

@@shellionbogle9318 You're not supposed to spray it directly onto the zipper. Instead, onto/into a small brush and use it that way. Then wipe clean with a non-abrasive cloth. And don't use a butt load either. A little always goes a long way.

It will also take stains off vinyl siding and paint and for the toilet it helps prevent water ring in your toilet and you can also spray it in the water tank to help the flapper and tank on scale build up .

Years ago I bought a beautiful French court cupboard 8' tall full of powderpost beetles! I didn't care. The price was right! They were actually active in there. I tried two remedies that didn't work. Then I tried WD40 plus straw...squirted it in a hole and 3 feet away it exited another hole. Mapped the whole thing in sections. Success! They never came back! Solvents ( WD 40) are absorbed through the skin and into the body where they remain. Solvents in the body have been linked to serious health problems. More emphasis (in this video) needs to stressed on wearing gloves, breathing and eye protection and thoroughly cleaning and washing used items with soapy water( i.e. the polished silverware!)

WD 40 "W"ater "D"isplacement 40th try. That's how it got it's name. Initially for old school distributors in cars/trucks when they got waterlogged.

wd 40 is not listed as food safe. Can't use it on food contact surface. Zippers usually "stick" because they are caught on some fabric, wd4o won't help. Also won't "melt" ice. May help keep ice from sticking too hard if you spray BEFORE ice forms. But windshield will be smeary until cleaned.

Before spraying glasses with toxic WD40, try immersing them in warm water. If they're stuck together because a partial vacuum formed as they cooled after washing, this will reverse the process by expanding the air in the bottom glass. That may be all that's needed. If not, be sure to wash them very thoroughly after using WD40, and, this time, maybe don't stack them warm.

Out of these 25 or so uses "everyone should know about", at least half are downright stupid, useless or even unsafe. Like spraying WD-40 on sneakers to clean or whiten them. What a dumb idea!!! You can kiss your sneakers good-bye after that. Or spraying it on you baseball glove to break it in... You never spray this stuff on leather. If you want to make your baseball glove or leather shoes soft, keep them in excellent shape and prevent them from getting dry and cracked, you treat them with several coats of castor oil or mineral oil - the kind that is used as laxative and also for treating cutting boards or chopping blocks made of wood. That's an old trick that hunters use to treat their leather shoes or boots, because after the oil saturates the leather to the point that it won't absorb any additional coat of oil, the leather becomes water repellent and your feet will be warm and dry. And most importantly, there will be no need to dry your footwear by the fire which dries leather and makes it hard and brittle. Unlike WD-40 (which is also not intended for coming into contact with food, glasses, dishes or silverware), castor or mineral oil are odorless and safe for internal use. WD-40 will make your baseball glove or shoes smell like machine shop. I highly question the claim that WD-40 should be used when getting the gum out of one's hair or using it as insect repellent. My conclusion: dislike.

Same; except, I skipped over 90% of the video. MOST of these Fact Verse videos are made up of mostly filler (and, they know it). 1st: Skipped the 32 second filler intro. Because, the Title was a huge spoiler alert. 2nd: I used the Left Arrow and Right Arrow keys on my keyboard to skip forwards after the moment I heard what it could be used for. "Oh, cool! You can shine your silver with WD-40? That's neat! But, I don't need a 10 second explanation on why it works...soooooo...I'll just skip over that filler-explanation and see what the next thing is." But, I did have to stop to see SOME of these "uses" just to see if these guys were serious. Like: using WD-40 to loosen cups which are stuck together. "Oh! That's a great idea! I'll use WD-40 on my drinking cups...so EVERYTHING I drink will have a hint of WD-40 from now on!" HEY, FACT VERSE!!! You know, you can just use WATER to loosen those stuck glasses, right? Oh! And, you know where water comes from? THE SINK! You know...that "THING" you use to clean dishes...so it should be pretty close to the glasses which are stuck together. To remove toilet bowl rings.. put on some latex gloves and get a pumice stone ( in footcare section) . It takes a little elbow grease and patience, wet the stone, scrub the dirty ring just like you would use an eraser. The pumice stone will not harm the ceramic. I have removed some dark rings that way....works great 👍

I've heard a few spirts in your drains for a couple days will get rid of drain flies. I don't know what it does to your pipes though, but probably ok if just an occasional thing. 👍

There's a better way to keep drinking glasses for sticking together after washing them let them air dry first before putting them away they will stick together when wet🤔💡

It will get grease marks out of a carpet. Spray WD40 onto grease mark rub with a cloth, the use a carpet cleaner to finish.

I your here because of a hard water ring in the toilet you can get a scouring stick(pumice stone) at a home improvement store where you can rub off the ring.

When I was 8, I used WD40 to spray my bicycle's front and rear 'horseshoe' brakes. Perfectly anticipated that a girl from around the corner would take my bike without my consent and she ended up in a nasty road accident because the brakes were not responsive. Serves her right!

I agree with this. I use hot water to separate glasses that are stuck. Fill up your sink with hot water and let your glasses soak for a minute. Then pull them apart.

@@lindagear9014 why risk it though? Isnt it safer to use hot water than to use a chemical thats poisonous to humans and animals if ingested? Its not about laziness its about common sense. Would you dip your hair in bleach and rewash it to get gum out of your hair? No. Its way safer to use olive oil and rewash it or put an ice cube where the gum is to make it hard so you can pick your hair out of it. Come on..😒
