I have a Lia Sophia floating bead necklace i wore to a wedding this weekend and received so many compliments. Several years ago it was a "party" type company and I was always invited. I wear these floating necklaces frequently but would love to master making them. Thanks so much for sharing!

Dear Melissa Anastasia, I know you left your comment 8 years ago but I just wanted to say that I totally agree with you about this gorgeous necklace. I've been wanting to make one like this for ages but I didn't know that you could put some of your beads on 2 strands of beading wire at the same time! This is wonderful ❤️ Did you make a similar necklace to the one that Allie made here? Love from Amanda in Australia

Oh WOW Allie, this is just the type of necklace that I've been wanting to make for ages. But I didn't know how to put the beads on in the way you've done it here. The necklace looks so elegant and beautiful, especially with the different gemstone and crystal beads on the gold wire. Is it possible for you to make a list of the beads you used to make this? Or, perhaps a list of any beads that you think would look good together on a necklace like this? Thanks Allie for another great video. Love from Amanda in Australia

Thank you Allie,.... for your nice tutorial, was very easy to understand . I am Nisha Ashar from India..!! I have made it just now only...it's so beautiful. Some of the materials are not available in India...like Sued Leather Cord, Charms & different types of Glass Beads, Mate Finished Beads etc. Buying it on 'On Line' becomes so expensive , but even than, what materials are available here in India, I always try to make the project nicely. Thanks to you...&...to Potomac Bead Co. also...!! 🙏🙏🙏😊

es muy linda y elegante, gracias por el tutorial . ojala los hagan con subtitulos en español. gracias
@tainadelcaribe8 жыл бұрын

What is holding the beads in place along the string so that they keep their space in between them to remain "floating"?
@Potomacbeadco9 жыл бұрын
+Theresa Lacko They are 1mm crimp beads.
@tainadelcaribe8 жыл бұрын
What's keeping them in place along the necklace is the slight tension in the necklace since some strands of the wire are joined together leaving a small space for the bead to move and making or of a stopper or stopping function, but in all reality if you wanted to you could pull them all to one side or the other. Now, if you wanted them to stay in place all together and not move at all, then you could use a crimp bead on each side of every bead to keep them in place.
@NicoleCap2310 жыл бұрын
Nice necklace, thanks for sharing. Does the order of the beads matter with this type of necklace?
@Potomacbeadco10 жыл бұрын
No, as long as long as you are not putting beads in the exact same place on each strand (forcing the piece to bulge out there).

Can you use a .018 in beadalon wire?
@Potomacbeadco10 жыл бұрын
You can, it just is a bit thicker and not quite as flexible.
@lorrainebrooks69348 жыл бұрын
What length did you cut the wire please?
@haydenbrook53327 жыл бұрын
I was wondering that too. Didi you ever figure out how to estimate the length of wire needed to make a certain length of necklace?
@lorrainebrooks69347 жыл бұрын
I figure if you use 10 inches of chain like she did, then about 16 inches of wire should do it.

You cut the length of your necklace, so 16.. 18.. 20", whatever you are using, plus some extra to allow your to crimp your ends.

instructions unprofessional no length wire given no number of beads or colors or types stated and it would be better not to go at such high speed .If the purpose of the video was to teach then it fails miserably.

Loved this vid/tutorial. Do the MATH. all you have to do is listen to what Allie says. So here is the math... 4 wire strands x 5 beads for pattern (pattern repeats 7 times) she added two beads to end for balance = 37 beads total. That is what I ended up with :) mine looks fantastic!!! 10 inches of chain, 16 +/- inches of wire x 4 (shortens at end with 2x2mm crimp beads) Finished size is 24" with no clasp. I just placed another order with Potomac to thank them for the outstanding video tutorials they offer to each and every one of us for "free" and thank you again Miss Allie for your clear and concise instructions and good humor.
