@@Potomacbeadco I've been cruising through some additional videos trying to find the coiled guard suggested around 2:10. Please, would you share which BB episode to find the coiled guard? I would appreciate seeing what you have to show versus what craziness comes to my mind. Thank you in advance.

goodmorning Allie, thanks for this episode, i like use a beading awl in knotting but never used wire gardian or protector at the end, it make a better look to a pearl knotting necklace, love

Interesting simple knotting technique using only an awl - I have watched other pearl knotting videos (some by jewellers) which appear somewhat complicated using specialised tools (one that looks awl-like)- why? is their technique more secure/stable than yours - I wonder..
@Potomacbeadco Жыл бұрын
Hello there! It's not more stable than the technique we show, it's just another way of knotting. Specialized knotting tools are good to use too, especially for beginners. Once someone becomes well versed in knotting they'll opt for using a more simpler method like the awl. Also it depends on the person, their personal preference. Thank you for watching!

Great video- thank you for sharing. I see that there are 2 awls available- one is pink and one is mint. Is there a difference in the two or is it jus the color?? Thank you!!

Allie ,what is the thickness of the dragon cord ? I am using real pearls which have small holes and require size 3 or 4 silk thread

Thanks for this Better Beader episode Allie! You mention using glue on the knots by the wire guards - what type do you recommend?
@Potomacbeadco3 жыл бұрын
We would recommend the E-6000 glue!

Is it better to use an awl or your fingers?
@Potomacbeadco2 жыл бұрын
We find that the awl gives us a closer fit to the pearls but we do know plenty of people who have mastered the skill to just use your fingers
