You need to get a large electric roaster. You won’t regret it. You will use it for so many things. Your sisters and your families keep growing and all the boys are going to start eating a lot more than they do now.

An electric roaster oven is a must in our house for the turkey. It frees up the oven. They aren’t expensive and so worth it. The turkey comes out perfect.

I need one ! I’m getting a tiny house and don’t have a traditional stove
@hope.s99473 жыл бұрын
I just got one this year! Does it cook pretty close to the oven, temperature wise?
@kelley82923 жыл бұрын
Yes, it does. Anything that will fit inside it, bake like you would in a normal size oven. I use it all year round. In summertime, I put it out in the garage so it doesn’t warm up the house more.
@kelley82923 жыл бұрын
Amen, Debra Marie! Before my turkey roaster days, I lived in Manila. My range (from Italy) was large, but the oven was tiny. The largest pan that fit inside was a 13x9. So, I butchered my turkey and brined the dark meat separate from the white. To roast, I placed the dark meat in one 13x9 and the white meat in another. This worked SO FAST and so marvelously that I have been preparing my holiday turkeys the same way since… 2011! I also heeded the wise advice of famous chef Gordon Ramsey. This frees up your oven and gives plenty of time for preparing the other hot dishes for the meal. Plan to roast the turkey so it is done up to four hours prior to mealtime. When the turkey’s done, remove it from the roaster or oven, and place it inside a covered Dutch oven or lidded casserole that will fit inside a large cooler. Or, you could wrap-wrap-wrap with foil so the entire bird is sealed. Next, wrap the bird or the covered dish in bath towels. Place inside the cooler, and cover with another towel before closing the cooler. This method will keep your turkey hot for up to four hours before serving. Just think of all the hot dishes you can now prepare in the oven now that it’s free!

When I was pregnant in 2008, one of the nurses that worked in my obgyn’s office was a surrogate for her daughter. She was in her 50s, and she carried 3 healthy babies full term, never missed a day of work, and had the babies, & 3 days later cooked thanksgiving dinner for the family!

It was like cooking with my own children so many years ago. I’m glad those eyes you have in the back of your head work so well, especially with the little ones around knives. Then towards the end you are joined by the competent older sibling who knows her way around the kitchen. Although as Australians we don’t celebrate Thanksgiving, this episode certainly is all about counting your blessings and sharing the joy of family. Thank you Lisa.

I am one of nine children and I admire you very much. Your and Luke's calm manner has a great influence on your children and their nature. You seem to take it all in stride as you face each day. An inspiration for sure. God has a plan for each one. Happy Thanksgiving.

I remember with fondness, my grandmother giving my brother and I a piece of dough to keep our little hands busy while she was rolling out and cutting biscuits. It made me smile to see you do it with your little ones. They're so eager to "help" I know it takes all your patience and wisdom when you are trying to get things done.

I’m so incredibly excited at the free Thanksgiving pdf! My life has been so positively influenced by Lisa to consume more healthy food and I find this a mentally healthy way of life where one can eat healthy food without obsessing about all these random diets and workouts. I made her chicken pot pie recently (it’s a MUST TRY) and for this Thanksgiving I’ve got my shopping list prepped to make her cranberry sauce and her green bean casserole! I’m unbelievably excited and I feel this channel has been a health changer for me and my family to attain better health without obsessing over food in an unhealthy way! I also love how nothing is said judgmentally. She just shares her experience and wisdom! Watch her podcasts too (another channel of hers well worth listening too) if you get a chance… especially her one on decreasing time on special media. I literally have an Apple Watch now because of her, because I can’t do any media on it but I can still get calls and texts. Anyway, I digress, but long story short is that this is such wholesome content and if you start to implement things little by little as you can you will truly find your life positively impacted by Lisa’s channel!

Should hydrated those cranberries in boiling water . Just enough to cover them. Put a lid on and allow to cool drain off any excess liquid . You can give them a whirl in a blender with your cider and spices or just add cider and spices to the pot an cook them to how you like them. My mother used this technique to hydrate raisins before she made oatmeal cookies Enjoy !
