This is the prfect marriage of fabric to pattern, this is probably one of my top 5 quilt patterns from MSQC! The accent color choices make it pop, yet it isn't jarring in any way. I agree that this would be spectacular in one of the Christmas color schemes, maybe the pink blue and white snow flakey one (Winter fabric)!!!

I am blown away with this design. It leaves me looking and looking and looking. Your blue/grey sashing had made this incredible. Thank you for the second design. Imagine having 2 beds in the same room with one of each design on them. I’m in love. Thank you Jenny and team

Speaking of being angley challenged....I recently made a memory quilt from my Mom’s clothing after she passed away. Imagine my surprise when I got it back from the long arm quilter and there were two places where I messed up. I was upset that I had messed it up but then I could hear my Mom say “Honey, it’s fine! That just gives the quilt character.” I decided to just enjoy the quilt for what it is, a memory quilt. Now, I never look at it without thinking of my Mom and how she was always such an encouragement when it came to my quilting. She was so proud of me and my quilts. ❤️
@grandmalovesmebest4 жыл бұрын
How lucky you are! Sorry for your loss, your mom must have been a great one. You can honor her by passing on her quality of giving encouragement. She would be proud that her kindness was spread out into the world by her little girl. It helps me when I discover a mistake on my quilts, I say, "relax, it's a quilt (or wall hanging or whatever) it's not a wedding gown!" 😁 Makes work a joy, not a chore.🙋

I used to get so cross with me when I found a mistake I could not fix. Then someone told me the Amish quilters always make a mistake, because only God is perfect, so I am happy to go along with that too.

What a wonderful touching story. I also lost my Mom- my best friend about 4 years ago. Recently I was home recovering from surgery and they had put me on prednisone. It makes you emotional! I wanted to make something and thought I would cut up my mom's gorgeous cotton shirt. I opened it up and it just looked like her to me! So petite and pretty! It made me cry- "seeing her again". Someday when I get to heaven is what I know!

I made a quilt for our missionaries at church who are in Africa. They needed a queen and I decided to make 2 half sides and put them together and quilt on my home machine. Well, I photographed it and sent it off. The whole church had signed it! A year later- I looked at the picture again. I could not believe my eyes! There where I put the 2 halves together, I had put the wrong ends together and there was an obvious space ALL ACROSS the center where there should have been alternate blocks! I thought - "Well if I did not see it then probably they do not either!" It is the thought that counted here. I had a wonderful time making it too!

With all the anxiety the virus and elections have brought to many, I have felt it deeply and found it quite difficult to navigate the emotions. Your videos have taken my mind off the chaos and uncertainty if only for a short while. Focusing on the videos has relaxed me and distracted my mind to focus on a more positive outlet. Thank you for the tutorial which is superb. But mostly thank you for the positive energy it brings to me .

Jenny! Another winner (plus!). Love the inside out of sashing! What a difference it makes! Hope you are mending yourself! I cringe seeing the bruises & bandaids! (I bruise easily myself! Routinely, after any surgeries, I too look a sight! If needle or tape applied, bruise marks the spot!). Feel better!

This is my absolute to "DIE FOR" day of the week. I love Jenny's tutorials.....She's amazing (and so are ALL of you that work behind the scenes to make MSQC what it is...THANK YOU!) I'm going to be HONEST here. At FIRST, I didn't like the quilt colors.....then the more she kept sewing, the more I liked it. I have some Kaffe Fassett Charm Packs called Lipstick and I am thinking about making the quilt out of this. (Love Kaffe Fassett!!) I'm trying to decide what colors to do the sashing in. I want to either purchase the fabric from MSQC or go get the fabric to cut the 2.5-inch strips from Jo-Ann's. Any time you can get TWO quilts for the price of ONE.....it's a great deal. Thanks so much for all the amazing videos, Jenny! ************************************************* BTW....can someone let me know what is wrong with Jenny's hand and arm?(I think this was mentioned a while back but can't remember???? It looks so painful!
@szelop4 жыл бұрын
holiday 2406 Just my 2 cents but I wouldn’t mix JoAnn’s strip fabric with Kaffe’s. JoAnn’s strips are wonky sometimes & the quality is not equal to quilt shop quality fabric.

Jenny, so glad you did this tutorial! I bought my supplies today. One change I am making from the beginning is I am going to only cut 20 of my layer cake pieces and enough of the other pieces to make 20 blocks. That is hilarious that you had enough for 2 quilts! AND......you went ahead and made 2! If I want to make the other quilt I think I will make it with 2 altogether different colors of middle strips that will make the star. The star quilt is also pretty! I am using a dark flowery layer cake and a teal and light aqua strips and 4 patches.
