People just flip out when they see my Guardian Backpack. I make them with souvenir t-shirts that I interface really well. I also use a quilting cotton lining that coordinates, then flip the back flap around so the outside flap is the the lining fabric and the lining fabric is the t-shirt. Tons of fun! Absolutely love this pattern... Great price and sew 😉 worth the money! ABSOLUTELY HATE the double-sided tape suggestion. Maybe it's that my tape was too sticky or my machine isn't tough enough but my machine couldn't properly sew through it... So many skipped/dropped stitches for the handle that I had to sew by hand. Thankfully, i started with a prototype bag that's just gonna get tossed in my truck for on the road extras. I figured I would need a test subject to figure out the quirks. Still absolutely LOVE this bag. I'm so grateful that you developed this pattern. 👍👍👍

In our more recent patterns we’ve started using a 2” box because the 1” box can *appear* accurate but actually slightly off and over the course of a larger pattern piece, it makes a difference. Occasionally printers will “force” print it to fit a certain size, sometimes at a totally random number like 96%. You’ll need to check your printer settings and make sure it’s set to 100% or “actual size”.

Just multiple the length of the zipper tabs by the percentage you enlarged if. So if your printing at 120%, your enlarging it by 20%, if the tabs are 5in long, multiple 5 x .20 = 1 then take the 5 and add the 1 so it would be 6in (idk how long her zip tabs are for this pattern, just using a number as an example).

What interfacing did you use on your exterior fabric? It looks nice and stiff. I made one bag and the sides do not stand up very well. I used the Decovil Light as you recommended but my vinyl exterior droops. I also used woven cotton for my lining and that may have been the problem. Hope to hear from you soon. I want to make another bag. I love your patterns.
@LindsHandmadeDesigns Жыл бұрын
I used sf 101 on boardshort material but the WPC as a liner makes all the difference if using a quilt cotton exterior! I would use a midweight interfacing for the exterior and liner if you don’t want to use the WPC. Hello I'm going to give this bag a try but I'm using fabric that I have on hand which is cotton for interior and exterior. So my question is do I put Decovil Light both?
@LindsHandmadeDesigns Жыл бұрын
That’s a tough one to answer. It will certainly have no structure without it doing all cotton inside and out but doing decovil light all over will definitely make it very hard to work with. I might suggest keeping the decovil on the sides and base as written but then maybe do flex foam for the front?

@LindsHandmadeDesigns Жыл бұрын
I’m not sure what machine you’re sewing it on but the more the structure it has, the More difficult it is to make. I’ve written for decovil light for the side panels to help give it structure and the WPC will also definitely help with that as well.

Thank you so much! I found the blue stuff in my stash, it feels almost twill like but I don’t know for sure because I have NO idea where I got it. It matched the main print so that’s all I cared about 🥴. The ecoweld I bought from Tandy. You can’t find it there anymore??
@dajanalaketic14553 жыл бұрын
@@LindsHandmadeDesigns It matches perfectly. I was just curious what the material was, but I am not sure whether the decovil gives it the firmness ( probably it does). I saw Ecoweld at Tandy a few months ago, and didn't buy it at the time but now it is nowhere to be found [if I so find it, it is $35 a bottle]. Tandy now sells something called Eco flo- leather craft glue, but I am not sure whether it was the same thing as the one you are using. Basically, I wanted to buy it and try it on my vinyl because you said it doesn't smell bad and it gets really tacky. I wanted to try something different than Beacon glue because it takes such a long time to dry between two pieces of vinyl when I make the snap closures for purse/pocket pals. I guess I will buy it and try it, and then let everyone know. :)
@LindsHandmadeDesigns3 жыл бұрын
I don’t really find the eco weld to work great on vinyls though because of the fabric backing 😕. It’s the roughed up suede side of leather that makes it so great on my leather projects. I think the fabriTac is still your best bet for vinyls honestly.
@dajanalaketic14553 жыл бұрын
@@LindsHandmadeDesigns Thank you so much for sharing. Maybe I am using too much, since when I apply beacon 3in1 glue on one side of the strap and press the other one on top, unless it dries overnight, once I go to cut it and sew it, it kinda oozes from between the layers (even after close to an hour). I thought this might be the problem with the vinyl backing, but I know I am not the only one using this glue,, so it must be user error.. I haven't tried fabrictac yet, I know a lot of people use it to treat cork. But thank you for sharing, you have saved me a few bucks from spending at Tandy's :D

Oh Linds, another cracking pattern!!!! Love that you have used the similar H2O technique again and you made it seem like a quickish sew (read 'a few days' for me 🤣). Impressed ❤️

Но можно же показать как расчертить эту выкройку это не займёт много времени я думаю и другим людям будет интересно не всё могут купить готовую выкройку не говоря уже о изделии так что вы проникнитесь к вашим подписчикам
