You put your smartphone up to the lid and a hologram would project on phone screen of a violin or cello player playing classical music. When the song is over the timing is that the ice-cream is soft and ready to scoop. Novel idea! Too bad it was only a limited time.

This is brilliant! Over 50 years ago I went to the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland. They used something similar to make ghosts appear. The little car we were sitting in was going on a track above the ballroom where the ghost manekins were dancing below us. There was tilted glass that we could see that reflected the image of the ghosts. Cool for the time.

In fact, if you were to lay the iPhone (or iPad) on the dash of your car, it would be reflected on your car’s windshield. It works for images but any lettering would need to be reversed to be seen correctly. Many years ago (before GPS Maps) I would print out the directions to the location I was traveling to in reversed text on a piece of paper then just lay it on the dash. I could see where to go without looking down at a map!
