I tried this and here are some tips for the ones who are planning to do this: 1. Don't be like me and buy a thick plexiglass if you don't have the right tools to cut it. So basically I didn't realize that the plexiglass that was used in this video was that much thin and I bought a plexiglass for about 2.8-3 mm thick and the cutting part was so hard. 2. Be very careful while you are drawing the 0.15 part because if you don't draw them just the same it will be hard to tape them together after you cut them and it may not be balanced if you don't draw them same. The ones that I did weren't the same so it ended up being a bit unbalanced but it stands on the phone perfectly fine. And if you don't draw them same there can be some gap between the two plexiglass and if that happens the resin and hardener can leak through those gaps so be careful about that too. 3. You don't really have to put the resin and hardener but I can assure you that the image is definitely more clear. 4. And if you didn't understand what he did on 1.41, you are not alone cause I didn't understand too but what i did there was: I got a piece that could cover the bottom of the hologram from the pieces that remained after cutting the plexiglass and I glued the piece under the hologram with a silicon gun don't worry I was able to take it of when the resin was dry enough to not to leak from the bottom 5. I actually didn't use the measurements that was given in this video for resin and hardener but instead I put the resin two times more than the hardener ( actually I guess this is the right ratio for resin and hardener but idk) 6. The resin and hardener mixture that I used took nearly ten hours to dry and I left it near the window (I thought fresh air may help it to dry faster) but drying time may last different depending on the resin and hardener that you use 7. Don't sop in your fingers to the resin it doesn't come of very quickly I guess that's all,but you can ask questions if you have any:)

I made one of these with clear plexiglass, but due to the thickness, I got ghost images. After searching for a thinner plastic sheet, I came across this video, which convinced me to go with the resin result. It is the clearest and easy to clean, and the projected image seems to be in the center of the prism.

It is a projection Head Up Display (HUD), the same as on an inclined car windshield or airplane cockpit, in which optical information is reflected from the source. It is better to use one small oblique sheet of glass. For a test than to produce a complicated sculpture from plexiglass, because the disappointment of depiction and the work involved is great. It's a lot, far away to the hologram and nice just on the PC monitor. :)

I was thinking diy electric fireplace, the logs are what drive me nuts about the fake gas fireplaces.
@DL-kc8fc4 жыл бұрын
@@andrewyork3869 I could advise you on this if you do not want to buy an artificial fireplace. First you need to simulate the 3D depth of the fireplace, which you will achieve with an oblique mirror. You place an old monitor in a fake chimney that has the inner shape of a fireplace. You can get the wood burning loop from KZbin. The effect is better than gas and fake logs. It's a good idea to try it on a cardboard model to get an idea of how to make it.

Not bad at all. You can only reflect the projection inside with a pyramid shape, then you don't need to look at it mirror-inverted. The viewing angle also changes. If you then put a magnifying glass between the projection and the glass, it will be even better and sharper, even if you stretch, stretch and pull the projection and adjust the magnifying glass. A magnifying glass is a 3d hologram projector and has been around for a long time. That would be the economy version. Now the energy version , that could then be built huge because there is more light behind it for the projections.
What are the stickie squares called that you use to hold your mold and keep resin from seeping out?

Much easier to make out of clear transparency sheet. Draw two pentagons 12 mm inner side and 72 mm outer side in a CAD application. Print on A4 paper and place the transparency sheet on top cutting out the profile with a utility knife. Score the fold lines with scissors. Fold into a pyramid and join one end with sticky tape.
