Lucky has really grown. That's one thirsty hungry big baby. She is getting lots stronger in strength. Its awesome how she's waiting for you every day at breakfast time awww. Love it. Ty to your wife for helping out with holding camera. Your life is as mine and everyone's one day at a time. But I do so love watching you do your chores and feeding the animals. We can see the kind of attention they give to you when you feed them. It shows trust between them and you. We all have good and bad days that's how God has planned our lives to be. I follow in my belief knowing he's always watching out for me and with me daily. As much as I have been thru I know he is. I tell everyone when they ask me how did I make it this far? I just turn and say, "I am a survivor of God's love for me, he's always been there for me, and always will be till the end of my time." I look forward to your E-book and future videos. God bless you , your family, your animals and farm in all you do always.

Brovo, Simeon. We have learned the homestead is a process, and a way of life. We do what we must do to earn money, and are slowly transitioning to full support from the farm. It's a process, folks, and hard work and commitment. Joel Salatin has worked 40 or 50 years to make Polyface Farm what it is. The journey is part of the reward of this life have chosen.
@brucea5505 жыл бұрын
And honestly, Salatin’s place looks pretty ramshackle. Simeon has a very presentable farm, neat buildings, organized stuff, nothing looking like it was cobbled together.

Hallo Simeon and family! When my ex husband and I tried to do 'small homestading' on our small piece of land in Greece, 40 years ago, we only had books that I had brought with me from England: 'Backyard Poultry Keeping', etc. We made a large enclosed space, with roosting places, and a cement floor, for our 'half grown pullets'! All went well, and they were growing, but one day we found over half of them dead, (not eaten!), and a fist sided hole 'punched' into the caging mesh' from outside! We were told that it had been a wild ferret! We 'doubled security' until the few remaining ones got their feathers, and then let them free! It was absolutely amazing to see how they fluttered, in a most ungainly style, but managed to get up onto the branches of an old olive tree! There was then the 'discussion' about who had the right to the upper branches, with a few ungainly landings on the ground, before the 'disposed' owner of a branch fluttered up to take up 'a lower position' in the tree! If we'd only had the incredible knowledge of internet in those days! 😟✌❤

Nice video! Far too few people realize that 80% of life is in your mind. Your outlook, attitude, thoughts, create your world. Following the dreams by using your gifts is easier once you know the mental process. As you mention, do what you do best, both because you will have easier success and because you will be happier doing what is natural to you. And when the going gets rough, as it will sooner or later, you have the consolation that you at least are doing what you want, not stuck working for somebody else’s dream, making them happy at your expense. Life is too short to waste not pursuing what you feel called to do. I had the good fortune to be taught very young that if you do what you love, you will do it better than anything else, and therefore succeed. Your family is living proof of that.

The more dependable you are in posting the more connected we feel to you and the more we feel connected the more we participate through comments.As I see it, you control that feedback by your actions.

My book is aimed to help a person or family to get into homesteading, to evaluate their dream, plan the step and give them some ideas for a small homestead to earn some extra income. It is not explaining how to do the different tasks like Richard's book does.
